Both movies show them as people tryna blend in w/ society, instead of savage outcasts, etc.

Twilight was entertaining. And it don't get much deeper than that for me on the vampire movie tip. I wont speak for ya'll, though. :)

yo, BP, I need the people who made this to challenge more knowledgeable Christians. The people they have spoken with so far are just as knowledgeable as people down the street...

As for the Passion Of The Christ, the movie and all..

The argument is baseless about all the blood and all. The whole purpose of the movie was to show how much Jesus went through, so why wouldn't there be MUCH blood?

I mean, they have some valid arguments in this documentary, but they also have some baseless and pointless. I also noticed some "typos" in their quotes of the bible, namely, Leviticus 18:22.

In the doc, they said for man to lie with men as he does a woman is wrong, and therefore should be put to death. But here is what the bible says:

"Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind; it is abomination" - Leviticus 18:22.

That's just an example of them playing on words, or using who knows what version of the bible, to be more persuasive. Abomination doesn't mean put to death, not even in ancient terms.

The same could be said of how they quoted Hebrews 8:4, but I don't really have time to go into that.

Now, on timelines, I find what they say interesting, but I know I'm not necessarily knowledgeable enough to speak on that.

Some of the stuff they spoke on were "freaks" of Christianity tho. Just because people are "fundamentalist" christians, doesn't mean they are RIGHT. SOunds like this film would be good as a target against people who are "jesus freaks" per se.

But not Christians who walk in Faith, and have an understanding of that you can't take everything at face value.

Oh boy...another one....another quote....but they don't read more into it...

Luke 12:10 and Mark 3:29.

These speak on denying the Holy Spirit. They quote these, and speak of how Man can speak bad against Jesus, but dare not speak bad against the Holy Spirit. But they also speak on why.

Mark 3:29 - But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
Mark 3:30 - Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

See, they speak on 3:29, but then they totally skip over the fact they're being told WHY in the very next verse. Ya digg?

An unclean spirit can't get into heaven is what they are sayin, but they just gloss over that.

I'll stop, because you gonna make me sound like a freak on here, and I KNOW I'm not scholared enough in the word to speak on all these matters...but I am smart enough to read a book to see they are really misquoting some stuff in this doc

@Wicked - Money recognizes money. Those folks you named with all those different people (NBA players, actors, etc....). Those women are used to being with financially successful, or in the news type folks. So, those are the circles they hang in. Just as typical as people who work in offices and start dating people in their field. Problem is...there aren't THAT many A-list brothas and sistas, so then they might go for the swirl as you call it. I can't say...

I also think Street hit it on the head too...with the whole meeting someone who treats them better comment. I think that happens too, where they meet a white fella who treats them the way they want, and brothas have been slippin' with them (or worse, cheating on them with other women, of all races).

My sis is a perfect example. She dates white dudes. I don't care for it, but I also can't say she found a lot of respectable brothas either...we are of a dying breed nowadays....Whether we want to accept it or not....

The loudest complaints concern his economic team's ties to Citigroup, the banking behemoth that all but collapsed last weekend. In particular, criticisms are mounting over the role to be played by Robert Rubin, a director at Citigroup and President Clinton's former treasury secretary.

Obama, who last week called for a massive stimulus package to prevent the US economy from 'falling into a deflationary spiral', has taken several protégés of 70-year-old Rubin as advisers, among them Timothy Geithner as treasury secretary, Lawrence Summers as senior White House economics adviser and Peter Orszag as budget director, even as Rubin himself has been defending his key role in deregulating the financial markets and steering Citigroup towards taking greater trading risks to expand its business and reap higher profits.

'Where's the diversity on the economic team? It's not only all from the same small club, but from the club that brought us the deregulation that has a lot to do with the economic collapse,' said Robert Kuttner, the co-founder of the liberal-leaning American Prospect magazine.

The growing fury over the bailout of Citigroup largely focuses on Rubin's role. In a damning post-mortem of Citigroup's rush to risk, the New York Times labelled Rubin 'an architect of the bank's strategy' and described him as having 'pushed to bulk up the bank's high-growth fixed-income trading'.

For Obama, who promised 'change you can believe in', the selection of Rubin protégés - what one critic called the 'essence of the Washington-New York finance axis of power' - has raised eyebrows.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama ran ahead of New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D) and former New York mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani (R) on their home turf in the first quarter, raising cash from the biggest investment banks on Wall Street.

The Illinois senator raised $479,209 from employees at the banks in the quarter, according to Federal Election Commission filings. Giuliani collected $473,442, and Clinton got $447,625. The figures are based on employers listed by the donors; in some cases, names are incomplete or missing.

The figures reflect giving from the employees of Bear Stearns, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, J.P. Morgan Chase, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley, as well as Goldman and UBS. Goldman employees gave about 50 percent more than the next-highest set of givers, at Citigroup.

(ex. company A sells 2000 ipods to company B for $200,000. Company B sells the ipods for $200 each. it takes company B 10 months to sell 1000 ipods to make back the money spent from company A. so they sell 800 in pure profit. so by the end of the year 200 ipods is left to be discounted for Black Friday.)

I saw a commercial today on the damn local news station that was promoting using the RFID chips as tracking devices for pets.

so they been implanting the pets with the chip? I knew they had lil tracking devices previously, but i aint know they been using that.

as far as the flu shot thing, I never got one of those. they do hype them up a lot, and i remember all the funny business too. running out of them and all that.

Im not a big fan of shots, but I know that some of them serve a big purpose. But I just like to take vitamins, they keep me straight for the most part.

Im sure they going to eventually implement some type of easy as way plus incentive to start fukkin with them chips. Probably going to have a lot of problems and malfunctions with them at first too.

but think about it. they probably just going to grandfather our generation right out of it. The new new generations will probably not know life outside of using them damn chips for everything. u know people addicted to things being fast and easy. so they will disguise it as advantageous technology.

No doubt. I think it's also a matter of being smart enough to do as they say and not as they do too. I mean out of my whole crew most of them didn't listen. If a person gets all moralistic about it then you'll easily fall into the same traps. A lot of the time it's hard to actually see the wisdom in what you're being told when for all practical purposes you're around cats that are wheeling and dealing and making a killing.

So the old timer says don't do this like this, you ask why, he explains it, and then turns right around and does it himself. You have to be smart enough to see the logic in why they are cautioning for you not to do it and the necessity in why they do it.
