Well compare what the average album is selling now compared to what they were. Yes downloading is a factor but so is the fact that the majority of the rappers nowadays aren't saying shit. Most are just copies of others.

Shit I agree with him. Most of the "mainstream" shit out right now isn't worth copping. So dumb ass niggas hollerin about how many people he killed, how many drugs he sold, or the bitch song. That's the formula for the majority of these albums. Imagine if that was the only shit on TV or in the movies all day everyday. You'd get tired of that shit no matter how much you're "living it".

Comedian Chris Rock told Larry King he's proud of Barack Obama's character.

Rock, an avid supporter of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, spoke with CNN's Larry King on Thursday. He said Obama is more grounded with your average American -- not somebody like McCain with "12 houses."

"The other guy [McCain] can lose five houses," Rock said.

King began the interview by asking Rock about Thursday's economic bailout talks when Obama and McCain went to the White House for discussions with the nation's top leaders.

KING: Obama and McCain at opposite ends of the table. What do you make of it?

ROCK: What do I make of it? If this was a boxing match, McCain would be holding.

KING: Holding on?

ROCK: Yes. It's like he got hit really hard in the stomach like, 'OK. I can't let him go. He's going to knock me out.' So that's what appears to be going on right now. Just a hold.

KING: Has the financial crisis affected you?

ROCK: Larry, I drove a cab over here tonight. When it's over, I'm going to try to pick up some more fares. I'm losing everything, Larry.

KING: Really downtrodden?

ROCK: Yes, it's real bad.

KING: Have HBO paid you already?

ROCK: They have paid me, but the money is worthless now. Haven't you heard? Your money's worth nothing.

KING: You must be ... proud that at this stage in our history a black man is running for president on a major ticket.

KING: From a comedic stand point, who is funnier, McCain or Obama? Seriously. Is Obama not -- it's hard to be funny about Obama?

ROCK: No, no. It's weird. People ask me that all the time. ... McCain jokes are just easy jokes, like I don't want a president with a bucket list. That's like a McCain joke. Those jokes are easy. It's like you basically, you know, you know, take the dust off your Reagan jokes and tell them again. You know?

But Obama, oh, this is a whole new set of jokes. I got to find a whole new move to the basket here. So I kind of hope he wins.

KING: Didn't you introduce Obama at a rally?

ROCK: I introduced Obama at the Apollo Theater not too long ago. I think Obama would be great. I mean, just look the big thing right now is the economy. And people are going broke. And here: The choice isn't Republican or Democrat. The choice is you got a guy that's worth $150 million with 12 houses against a guy who's worth a million dollars with one house.

KING: Well --

ROCK: The guy with one house really cares about losing a house, because he is homeless. The other guy can lose five houses and still got a bunch of houses. Does this make any sense? Am I the only one that sees this?

KING: It's unique way of ...

ROCK: I'm just saying, John McCain could lose half his houses.

KING: You got a point.

ROCK: And sleep well.

KING: You and Bill Clinton were on Letterman on Tuesday. You had some problems with the tone of his endorsement of Barack Obama. ... Do you think Bill is hesitant about Barack Obama?

ROCK: You know what? You know, he did a great speech in Denver. And Hillary's been on the campaign trail. Just at that moment, if you watched what happened on David Letterman, it appeared he was holding back. And when you tell a joke and everybody laughs, it is not because they disagree with what you're saying. So --

KING: They get it?

ROCK: Yes, they get it. The whole audience was in on it. But, you know, hey, the guy's in a weird position there. His wife ran for the thing and she didn't win.

KING: The next night, on "The Daily Show," Jon Stewart asked Clinton about the Letterman appearance and Clinton suggested that Obama supporters who questioned commitment are missing the point.

ROCK: It was great. It was great. And you're right, [Obama] does need to get some of the votes that went to Hillary and all that. I don't understand any Democrat that voted for Hillary that doesn't support Obama. Because their views are pretty similar. You know what I mean? ...

I understand people supporting Mr. McCain. But a Democrat that's going to just be mad is -- there's something kind of really messed up about that.

KING: Have you always done political humor?

ROCK: You know --

KING: When you started, did you do politics?

ROCK: I'm interested in the world. Jon Stewart does political humor. Bill Maher does political humor. I talk about stuff the way guys would talk about it at the barber shop. I don't belong on any panel on this show. You know what I mean? I don't deserve to be near Roland Martin and Anderson Cooper and all these guys. I try to talk about politics in a way a guy that works at UPS would understand.

KING: You did a lot of Brooklyn stuff.

ROCK: I do all sorts of stuff, Larry. All sorts of stuff. You know, I hope Obama wins just because, you know, the country needs it. The country needs a change. We kind of seen what this whole McCain thing is. And I'll go with the guy with one house. The guy with one house is scared about losing his house.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The first black heavyweight champion should be granted a presidential pardon for a racially motivated conviction 75 years ago that blemished his reputation and hurt his boxing career, the House recommended Friday.

Jack Johnson, at age 67 in this 1945 photo, before a boxing exhibiton in New York City.

Jack Johnson became world heavyweight champion in 1908, sparking a search for a white boxer, dubbed "the Great White Hope," who could beat him.

In 1913, Johnson was convicted of violating the Mann Act which outlawed the transportation of women across state lines for immoral purposes. Authorities had first unsuccessfully tried to charge Johnson over his relationship with a white woman who later became his wife.

They then found another white woman who testified that Johnson had transported her across state lines in violation of the Mann Act.

Johnson fled the country, returning in 1920 to serve nearly one year at Leavenworth. He tried to renew his boxing career after leaving prison, but never regained his title.

The House resolution, passed by voice, states that Johnson paved the way for black athletes to participate and succeed in integrated professional sports and that he was "wronged by a racially motivated conviction prompted by his success in the boxing ring and his relationships with white women."

It urged the president to grant Johnson, who died in 1946, a posthumous pardon.

"He was a victim of the times and we need to set the record straight -- clear his name -- and recognize him for his groundbreaking contribution to the sport of boxing," said Rep Peter King, R-N.Y., author of the resolution.

The measure now goes to the Senate, where Republican presidential nominee John McCain, a senator from Arizona, has a companion resolution.

Lawmakers: Give first black boxing champ a pardon

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The first black heavyweight champion should be granted a presidential pardon for a racially motivated conviction 75 years ago that blemished his reputation and hurt his boxing career, the House recommended Friday.

Jack Johnson, at age 67 in this 1945 photo, before a boxing exhibiton in New York City.

Jack Johnson became world heavyweight champion in 1908, sparking a search for a white boxer, dubbed "the Great White Hope," who could beat him.

In 1913, Johnson was convicted of violating the Mann Act which outlawed the transportation of women across state lines for immoral purposes. Authorities had first unsuccessfully tried to charge Johnson over his relationship with a white woman who later became his wife.

They then found another white woman who testified that Johnson had transported her across state lines in violation of the Mann Act.

Johnson fled the country, returning in 1920 to serve nearly one year at Leavenworth. He tried to renew his boxing career after leaving prison, but never regained his title.

The House resolution, passed by voice, states that Johnson paved the way for black athletes to participate and succeed in integrated professional sports and that he was "wronged by a racially motivated conviction prompted by his success in the boxing ring and his relationships with white women."

It urged the president to grant Johnson, who died in 1946, a posthumous pardon.

"He was a victim of the times and we need to set the record straight -- clear his name -- and recognize him for his groundbreaking contribution to the sport of boxing," said Rep Peter King, R-N.Y., author of the resolution.

The measure now goes to the Senate, where Republican presidential nominee John McCain, a senator from Arizona, has a companion resolution.

Imma be real, I really do think that Bush's lil sneaky ass had something to do with 9/11, but hell I think that snake has something to do with everything that goes wrong in our country.

Now if Bush did have something to do with 9/11, that is some sick shit and we should torture his ass then kill him. Unfortunantly, his involvement is something that we may never know.

My point to makavalias & Boss Up is that we don't really know who attcked us and more importantly who masterminded the whole operation, but what we do know is that Al-Qaeda took responsibility for it. Al-Qaeda is lead by bin Laden and based in Afghanistan, not Iraq.

Now, if we are going to war with the people who attacked us as the Bush Administration so often tells us...then why are we in Iraq?

I'm sorry, but something ain't right. And, excuse me if I get upset about this because not only am I pissed off about the amount of money we are pouring into this fake-ass war. But, I have several family members who have had to serve time in Iraq. I also have a cousin who was almost killed twice while over there. 1 time a humvee that she was supposed to be riding in was bombed & everyone in it died & another time she went out to get something to eat and her barrack was bombed...her roomate died while sitting in their room. So excuse me for getting a little emotional about this shit, but I think it's a bunch of bull.

My aunt was over there and she told me about how they are shipping body parts home of people that they can't even identify.

I feel like people are over there dying in vain because they are not fighting the people who claimed responsibility for attacking us.

I miss good black shows period, I wish the WB would buy back their network, ever since the CW came about we have been losing all of our black shows! First there was One on One, and I wanted to know what happened when Bre'Anna woke up next to Ray J!!! Then there was Half and Half, just when Mona got a man, then All of Us...I wanted to know what happened when Neecy asked Robert to have another kid....and Girlfriends?!? That was the last straw but then I stopped watching it after Toni Childs left anyways but still, that was MY Sex and the City dammit!!! Exactly. Seems like all these pro-war Americans always manage to 4get that 1 specific detail. That alone shows how unbelievably stupid and gullable the masses are. Of course there is a chance that Al Qaeda had no involvement...but as it stands today..what you said is the correct and should be the general public perception based on what the MEDIA publicized immediately following the 9/11 attacks. I bet Sadam is in hell right now pissed like a muphuka....like how in the f*** did I get dragged into this shit. smh. Personally I think there are multiple parties involved and Al Qaeda is a willing scapegoat. jmo though.

True. Like I said, there are likely other parties involved also. The problem is, who investigates the investigators.....if you feel what I'm saying? Al Qaeda is only 1 participant in this smoke 'n mirrors game. I'm guessing anybody who knows the real truth is either dead, under heavy government surveillance or a cooperating partner. At the same time though, we are fighting an pre-meditated, orchestrated war and nobody is even questioning the legitimacy of our moves and involvement. Correct. Obama is simply playing the game he has to play given the circumstances. He has to choose his words and actions intelligently so as not to alienate certain groups of people. I think some of us do not fully understand the game he is being forced to play. I'm certain everything he does is probably not by choice, but by design. Getting to the white house is easy....you just have to be a bigger pimp than your opponent. And, I guess there is always the idea that the president has already been selected by the POWERS that be. We all know the Federal Reserve is a for-profit company that is not a direct branch of government, right? Good. So now y'all have a gov't centralizing defence and finance into the Federal Government Executive Branch. This is alot like what Stalin and Hitler did. Not saying that's where it's heading, just citing history. What I'm talking about is while they say they are making things "transparent" and making people "accountable", they are really doing the opposite. By putting Defence and Financial power in the domain of the Executive Branch of gov't, there are less opportunities to apply the checks and balances that are needed for both democracies and free-market economies to run effectively.

And to everyone else who feels as if the US govt may have something to do with the attacks on the WTCs, I say its DEFINITELY open to speculation.
