Deandre Brunston was a 24 year old African-American with 5 yr old twin boys & a 3rd on the way. On Sunday, August 24, 2003, a gang of LA County Sheriffs shot him to death on the front stoop of a tiny apartment in a dirt-poor section of Compton.

This Sunday is the 5th anniversary & we calling the community to remember & fight for justice-

some yall seen a short version of this video. the is the full version, filmed by the sheriffs… even tho they cut it up too. but this is the full video in evidence. It shows 20 minutes of discussion between deandre & the sheriffs before they kill him & they dog.

The crisis negotiation team was never requested, tho Compton station is around the corner. The tape shows how the sheriffs maneuvered at every chance to drive toward one outcome, the one that get them home quickest.

The initial ranking K9 deputy on scene, sgt. Earnest Burwell, was ordered away when he refused to deploy his dog, cursing his lt. that the situation was contained & not K9 deployable. Burwell since filed internal complaint, quit the dept, agreed to testify & is in hiding out of state.

Lt. Patrick Maxwell ordered the end of negotiation & attack over a cell phone, drunk at a Sunday night party with his girlfriend. He has at least 3 other hot murders documented.

The K9 they killt was emergency airlifted to the trauma center while Deandre body was handcuffed & left for the coroners in the morning.

Deandre baby momma, Fonda, was locked in back the sheriff’s car on the street the entire time they telling him they can’t find her. The initial call was ‘domestic disturbance’ that Deandre split from.

He was on probation & playing for time to try to get her to squash the call, wanting to not return to L.A. gladiator school & knowing LASD policy directs them to not use deadly force in the absence of a visible threat. He was not on the run or wanted, & sheriff testimony notes they had strong understanding he was unarmed. The object he drops is a slipper from the porch.
