On Wednesday, September 16th, the New Black Panther Party will join the Peoples Organization for Progress and the Farrell family for a rally against police brutality in front of Newark City Hall.

This event will protest the killing of Basire Farrell by several Newark police officers on May 15th at Tillinghast and Clinton Place. Witnesses say Farrell was in handcuffs and completely subdued when the officers in question administered the savage beating that took the young man’s life.

After the rally, participants intend to raise the issue at the City Council meeting.

           The rally will begin at 4p.m. The City Council meeting will begin at 6p.m.

           Newark City Hall is located at 920 Broad Street, Newark.

The screening of the powerful new film, Mysteries Behind Closed Doors:The Untold Truth About the Malachi York Case, originally scheduled for this Saturday, September 19th, has been postponed.
