Email your rumors to illseed at allhiphoprumors@gmail.com.

Also, posed a very important question about Barack Obama as it relates to G.W. Bush. Click here. It is a very simple question.

ROY JONES VS JOE CALZAGHE

Tonight is going to be the big fight. I can’t wait! While I think Joe Calzaghe is one of the most talented boxers out, I really want to see Roy Jones, Jr. pull this one out. Roy has been the best and taken tremendous falls in his career. I want to see him exit on a high note. On the flip side, Joe isn’t a spring chicken either so, if HE wins, he plans to retire.

We interviewed both men.

Click here for Roy Jones, Jr.

Click here for Joe Calzaghe.

I predict the fighter with the more comments wins! Lol!

LADY DRAMA BRINGS THE RUMORS TO THE WEEKEND!

Lets Recap.. MTV EURO AWARDS went down! And Kanye's New Video...

Estelle and Kanye American Boy

Kanye West Love Lockdown

Check out performances from Kanye and Estelle who seemed to rip it up, although I could do without Kanyes out of tune high pitched voice lol! Other than that the show looked good! Beyonce also performed but I'm tired of her right about now and her imaginary friend Sasha LOL! But Illseed would be happy to know Kelly's Back ("Lord, yes!)" says illseed!):

And looking better than ever if you ask me! and Kanye's new vid heartless is out:

Now that that's out the way...  Thriller goes to Broadway:

MJ's all time greatest single (at least in my opinion) Thriller will be hitting the stage in the US and UK.  The Thriller concept will be used to produce two separate productions directed by Broadway guru Jimmy Nederlander.  The musical is looking for someone to play Michael and the description for the part goes a little something like this:

Looking for a young black, African-American or dual heritage boy aged 11 to 15 with an excellent unbroken pop/rock voice with a high range, who is exciting, confident and energetic.”

Open auditions take place on November 23 at the Lyric Theatre, where singers will be asked to sing either Ben, I Want You Back, or I’ll Be There.

Now while the musical may not hit the big stage until a couple more years I hear the UK may be ready to bring the production to life as early as January of 09! This could be pretty interesting.  Too bad Sony owns all the rights though :-(

Janet no Pain no gain... Unless you gain weight and lose your book deal...

Poor Janet's career seems to be down the shi**er! Not only has her tour been a total bust but she has also lost a Diet Book Deal with a publishing company due to the fact that she has packed on some pounds :-( My fav publication the Natl Enquirer (yes folks I did say my favorite) is reporting that the publishing company has postponed the book indefinitely and that it was a mutual decision! This seems to be becoming a trend for Janet... Every time something bad happens in her career its a mutual decision... She gets dropped from her label (mutual decision) she gets dropped from her book deal (mutual decision) She decides to DO Jermaine Dupri... Well maybe not everything...

Snaps to the Kids.. happy Belated B-Day to Diddy... and Cassie and Lauren get Back to Work!

Diddy brought in his B Day with a birthday celebration and an Election party all in one at NYC's infamous Mansion nightclub! And while Diddy partied the night away his bust it baby Cassie does her modeling thing with my girl Lauren London in the New Sean John Women's Ads...

At least Cassie is  good at something and its a great way to stay on the payroll if I might add!

Lady Dramas Food for Thought:

Is anyone else feeling offended by Obamas face being plastered over every club flyer this weekend? Why must we always have a re-course of hustlenomics 24/7? Anything to make a profit LOL

If Carmelo can cut his braids for Obama why cant everyone else? I'm all about waves for the babes!

Another happy Birthday to Diddy although Im convinced he's been a part of the 30 club for way too long? I'm just sayin...

I hear Kelly Rowland is dating some Billionaire... Finally she makes a career move that will hold her spot in the game! I knew she had something underneath all that hair :-)

I'm out guys! Have a great weekend.. I think we all deserve it! Love me or leave me alone!

For more, go to illseed.com.

OBAMA, WE LOVE YOU!!!

Obama and Russian president Medvedev chat on phone

President-elect Barack Obama waves as he leaves his first press conference Reuters – President-elect Barack Obama waves as he leaves his first press conference following his election victory …

CHICAGO – President-elect Obama spoke to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Saturday as the future American leader had another round of phone calls with counterparts in other nations.

A Kremlin statement said Obama and Medvedev "expressed the determination to create constructive and positive interaction for the good of global stability and development" and agreed that their countries had a common responsibility to address "serious problems of a global nature."

To that end, according to the Kremlin statement, Medvedev and Obama believe an "early bilateral meeting" should be arranged.

Obama's office did not issue a statement describing the call.

A Bush administration plan for setting up a missile shield close to Russia's borders has been a sore point with the Kremlin and has served as another dent in its battered relationship with the U.S.

On Wednesday, the day after Obama's election, Medvedev threatened to move short-range missiles to Russia's borders with NATO allies even as the U.S. offered new proposals on nuclear arms reductions as well as missile defense. Allowing Russian observers at planned missile defense sites in Poland and the Czech Republic were among them, U.S. officials said.

During the presidential campaign, Obama expressed skepticism about the system, saying that it would require much more vigorous testing to ensure it would work and justify the billions of dollars it would cost.

Obama foreign policy adviser Denis McDonough said Saturday that Obama had "a good conversation" with Polish President Lech Kaczynski about the American-Polish alliance but that Obama had made no commitment on the missile shield plan.

"His position is as it was throughout the campaign, that he supports deploying a missile defense system when the technology is proved to be workable," McDonough said.

That was in contrast to a statement issued by the Polish president. Kaczynski said Obama "emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership of Poland and the United States and expressed hope in the continuation of political and military cooperation between our countries. He also said that the missile defense project would continue."

President Bush wanted construction of a European missile shield — installations would be in Poland and the Czech Republic — to begin before he left office in January with a completion date of 2012. Experts in the Defense Department believe more interceptor testing is required, according to reports over the summer. Additional tests could delay the program for years.

In Madrid, Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero told reporters Saturday that he had spoken by telephone with Obama and that they discussed their desire to meet each other and work together, though no concrete plans were made.

"We had a very, very cordial conversation," Zapatero said.

On another international matter, Obama's office had little to say in response to a statement by Khaled Mashaal, leader of the Palestinian militant group Hamas, that he is ready to talk to Obama "with an open mind." The exiled militant leader told Sky News from Damascus, Syria, that the election of an American president with African roots is "a big change."

McDonough said, "President-elect Obama said throughout the campaign that he will only talk with Hamas if it renounces terrorism, recognizes Israel's right to exist, and agrees to abide by past agreements."

The Bush administration has boycotted Hamas, as has most of the international community, because Hamas refuses to renounce violence or recognize Israel.

Mello cut his braids as a promotion for NBA Live 2009.  Not because of Obama.

NBA Live 2009 uses a feature called DNA, where you can go online and download daily updates.  This makes the players in the video game play similar to how they are at that time in real life.   For example, if they're slower from an injury....on a hot streak at making 3s......lets say Melo had a game where he got a ton of blocks, when you play the game the next day, he's more probable to get blocked shots.

The reason they did this with his hair because it was the easiest way for someone to see.  Carmelo cuts his braids...next day, go online....braids all gone.

Ahh, BP, I'mma continue now, even if u don't get this till later..u messn up my oxtail game, though, I'm finna go do that in a minute...

*'prolly a simple answer but what are birds of paradise?

*I there ARE normal things that go w/out sayin, but they should still b appreciated..but there are separate romantic things. like:

1) what gift have u ever gotten 4 ur bday? (i don't mean material, either)  I mean, c'mon, she aint never did anything thoughtful that u weren't expecting?  found a creative way to spend time w/ u? did something to save you some time?

*I think, we as BLACK PEOPLE, have been damaged. fa real. I mean, women that are "damaged goods" have damage that is more obvious: promiscuity..low self-esteem..extra defensive..etc

But men can be damaged goods, it's just not always as easy to spot or he is rewarded for it:

1.) Men who sleep around. There are men that simply cannot be alone. Who settle for any woman, simply b/c he doesn't want to be single..or lonely..or alone.  There are men addicted to porn. There are men who sleep around, using sex as a distraction. But men receive admiration from other men for this lifestyle, so u don't view it as damaged goods. Me? I don't want a man every damn female has slept w/.  What if he's had sex w/ someone I kno? And u gonna deal w/ jealousy from women if they see some1 ppl thought would never settle down commit themselves to you.  I gotta deal w/ some broad telln ME what MY man likes in the bedroom cuz she spiteful?  Many things can come from dealing w/ a man who has dealt w/ hella hella women.

2.) Anger issues. That is also a form of "damaged goods" that other men tend to admire in a man, so he's rewarded when he acts that way.  He's gangsta. Hard. whatever.  But it aint coo, havn a man who is easily irritated/angered. Who wanna walk on eggshells? Either u gonna do that or u gonna say "eff it, I don't care if u get mad." Then u got a woman who slowly becomes inconsiderate of his emotions b/c he's always "crying wolf." Why should I care if something upsets u if EVERYTHING makes u mad anyway?  A man who has a sensitive ass temper is a form of "damaged goods."

3.) Lacking affection. That is a form of damaged goods, in my opinion.  When u don't like kissing or hugging, holding, etc.  I don't mean in excess, like u can't even sit on the couch or walk down the street w/out holding hands. B/c a woman who is needy is a sign of "damage", as well. But a man who "doesn't need anybody or anything" is another form of damage. Hiding resentment or emotion behind that poker face.  He could be afraid of losing u or getting too attached, so he deals w/ it by convincing himself he doesn't care that much so it wont hurt when u inevitably leave like everyone else has done.

But @ the end of the day: BP, I wouldn't be surprised if u ultimately fell head over heels for a woman who had something on her report card or a trait that u considered "damaged goods." God do junk like that to show u just how deep the love inside of u runs.

The greatest gift of all?  When ya'll can look @ ea. other and be like "u've been damaged."  "So have I.." and decide to lick ea. other's wounds until it's outta ur systems, however long it takes.

Unconditional love, BP. Dig?

hmm? U ever watch Top Model? Tyra Banks always complimenting women's "elongated neck" on the show..

there's something behind that.

The standards of beauty in society change a lot.  There was a time when fuller figured women stood for beauty and no one wanted skinny (look @ old school paintings w/ naked women, they be lightweight chubby, lol)

Then everyone was skinny and no one wanted fat.

Then it came back around and they called it "thick" lol. J/k, there are women who are not chubby (flat stomach and sides) but are not petite.

So, anyway, I'm assuming ur woman gonna get mad kisses on her neck. (yeah, I'm usin east coast slang, lol)

Dayum K mama...it's been a while I even had the opportunity to do some "romantic ish", so I gotta think on this...but let's start....

@ the board (men, that is)

we gonna have a lil chat:

Question 1.)  Her lips and smile, and her hair.  Don't know why, but I like long hair.  But lips/smile...good lawd.  I'm a sucker for a pretty face, beautiful smile, and sexxxy lips...love it.

Question 2.) Hmmm...The only woman I think I've ever been in love with...I did this for her on her bday

I had her best friend pick her up around 4:00 and take her to a spa.  She got one of them 1 hr massage therapy type treatments.  Once she finished there, her friend took her home to change.  I picked her up, and took her to a romantic dinner in Oakland, actually in Berkeley.  Don't remember the name of the restaurant, but I remember her talking about it in a conversation.  After that, we had to "stop" over at my boy Loren's house (I met him through her) so I could use the restroom (he was like a mile or so from the restaurant).  She really thought I just had to use the restroom, but turns out, he and I had planned a surprise party for her:o).  I invited ALL of her friends, some she hadn't seen in 2 yrs.  She just started crying.  It was crazy.  Once the party was over, let's just say the END of the night was quite nice:).  Oh, and let's not forget, I got her a player azz bracelet and clothes.  That was my heart tho:)

Question 3.)  Real talk...she created this calendar for me.  No joke.  She made me a calendar where each month was a pic of someone special in my life.  I loved that, because about a year later my Nanny passed, and that Calendar became so much more special to me.  Outside of that gift for my b-day, she decorated the spot, had candles burning in the room, the whole nine.  I'll leave the rest of it out...but most women haven't been as creative as I have.  Typically, they entertain by creating FUN in the room...and you don't want those stories...lol

Question 4.) I never really put much thought into it...lol.  I guess I would need her to be...

Beautiful smile, witty, intelligent, sexxxy.  I would need her to be someone who wants to support me through thick and thin (goals, dreams, aspirations), and I also need her to DREAM BIG.  I think if she has these qualities, and wants to be a MOTHER, then she'll be the ideal candidate.  I don't expect her to be PERFECT, just perfect for me:)

That's my feelings on that...

interesting...

good points about how men can be damaged as well 2, Dope.

and how men are actually validated for these...issues. yeah cause that's what they are: issues.

and the 3 things u listed are truly enormous turn offs. imo.

but the reality is that many/most ppl are damaged in 1 way or another.

& that's where personal responsibility comes in2 play. cause its our choice 2 look @ self, & even a member of the opposite sex that we're dealing with, as "just damaged."

the point is whether ur willing to reframe that to: working thru ur/their process, that is if they truly are.

& ima tell yall sum'n I heard 2day: there comes a day for all of us, where ur either gonna drop ur shit or ur gonna throw ur shit.

its up 2 only u, which u choose 2 do.

they used the original Batman and his body type in comparison to present day Batman,

to show how as woman have shrunk, men have gotten waaaay bigger.

it was a trip.

-Kanye supposedly pissed on a floor over in the UK.  Here's the story from that other site:

Kanye was in the city to collect the Ultimate Urban gong at the MTV bash.

The evening before, he showed up for a star-studded party in the city’s Carling Academy.

But he stunned fellow artists by not bothering to find a toilet backstage, choosing to relieve himself on the floor of a dressing room shared with the TING TINGS.

Speaking at the MTV Awards, drummer JULES DE MARTINO said: “We ask for a lot of unusual things on our backstage rider but that ain’t one of them!”

In Kanye’s defence, the sink must have been full.

Yeah, they spelled defense with a C....lol

That's also where they are confirming that Bow Wow has Karrine pregnant (or at least they allege it with some photo of a dude with a tat that looks exactly like Bow Wow's).  I didn't read into it too much...I hope he doesn't have her pregnant...wow

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Apparently Beyonce is accused of "snubbing" Jennifer Hudson and hasn't offered any condolences about Jennifer's tragic loss of her Mom, Brother, and nephew.
I also read somewhere (I think a magazine while I was in line at the grocery store last night) that Jennifer has been blaming herself....saying she wishes she would have forced to move her family to LA with her, and out of Chicago.  They said she claims Darnell didn't want them to leave, because Chi-town was home.  Jennifer is apparently blaming herself for their loss...
I hope not....In regards to Beyonce, I can assure you she wasn't at the funeral, because the funeral was the same day Beyonce was in Cincinnati and Columbus doing the rounds with Jay for Obama.  That right there could get ugly...
4.) what makes a woman marriagable is her willingness to get behind her man and have enough confidence and trust in him to lead the family like the Bible spoke on.
to trust and be confident that i will do the right thing when it comes to the direction the family is to go, how i carry myself when she is not around, how to handle all the different situations and responsibilities that come with a marriage, is all and everything that makes me want to marry a woman.  if you show you truast and believe in us, we will want to, and willing to, step up and be successful, if not already.
I think most men want that mami in their life to take care of home...
according to Freud that's man's inate nature to be with a woman like their mothers.
Do ya'll belive in that theory?
Little boys grow up to marry their mothers and little girls grow up to marry their fathers?  And where does that leave the single parent children?
-------------------------------
good question..there's somebody for everybody, though. Single parenthood is an epidemic. I work w/ kids who don't have EITHER parent..foster care..
Personally, I'm not attracted to men who have a boring story coming up..or who haven't come from struggle. I respect him more when I know he had to fight just to be who he is today.  He'll understand me better, as well.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What's wrong with just never getting married?
Ratio of DIVORCE in the U.S. is 1 in 2.
50% of America gets divorced. While the other half stays together because of the children, the money, or some other stupid reasons. Marriage is an idea gone down the drain. IT IS POSSIBLE TO FIND SOMEONE. But the odds are really bad. Only a small percentage (maybe 5 or 4%) actually find true love...
Am I wrong?
Here's a question for you, you stated that you probably wouldn't get with a guy who hasn't struggled, but what if you met a guy who had a good upbringing, smart, has goals and is genuinely interested in you? Would you leave him alone, because he's boring, or would you give him some burn? I'll add the fact that he's an artist to make this guy more appealing.
----------------------------
I dated someone who had that upbringing. We were lightweight best friends, and the fact that we didn't take it there (sex) is 'prolly why we are still good friends to this day.
I don't rule anything out.  Cuz God has ways of showing u that anything is possible.
But it still stands..I relate better to ppl who have come from struggle.  And they relate better to me, as well. IMO
I'm not arguing w/ that, hon. What I'm saying is that, it doesn't rule out love 4 ppl who haven't had fathers. U kno how many Black families are single parent families??
Put it this way: I'm in a beautiful, healthy relationship and I aint have either one of my parents.
I tend to believe anything is possible. But er'body don't think like that, so, if it aint for u..(shrug) carry on.
l1.) lips, thighs, eyes.
imma skip 2 and 3.
4.) what makes a woman marriagable is her willingness to get behind her man and have enough confidence and trust in him to lead the family like the Bible spoke on.
to trust and be confident that i will do the right thing when it comes to the direction the family is to go, how i carry myself when she is not around, how to handle all the different situations and responsibilities that come with a marriage, is all and everything that makes me want to marry a woman.  if you show you truast and believe in us, we will want to, and willing to, step up and be successful, if not already.
adopefemalemc, get back to me on this.
any other female that may be reading this get at me.  this is good conversation right here.
i wanna know the same thing.
what body part on a man turns you on besides his dick and his shoe size?
what things make you want to marry THAT man?
-----------------------------------------
I'on kno what it is about thick eyebrows (not uni-brows, just thick/full) that turn me the hell on, but they do. Just seem to add definition to his face, facial expressions when he makes em, etc. Black hair preferred.
I love smooth, dark-skin.  nice teeth.
First thing I look at on a man is his face.  Cuz that's what I'll picture when I think of him everytime.
I've made an exception before, though.
Now, this gonna sound weird, but flaws attract me. I don't want no Black Adonis, although, they're nice to look at.  Flaws are unique. Just more..human. Makes me have to search harder to find what makes him sexy to me. Somehow makes him more down-to-earth. There are always ppl who have a false sense of entitlement, of course.  But for the most part, ppl who don't have the perfect physical appearance don't expect it, either.
Could be a gap.  A scar.  Even physical build (I'm not particular on physical build, just the face.)
Marriagable:  Loves mind-sex.  A thinker.  Understanding, in the REAL sense, not just smiles and says "mmhmm" at everything.  Affectionate.  Good sense of humor.  Good goals he is ACTIVELY and CONSISTENTLY working towards. (Anybody can say "One day, I'mma..")  Naturally kind, doesn't have to work at being cordial, social, or polite.  Even-tempered, but passionate.  Confident, at least for the most part. Not egotistical, though.  Open-minded.  And definitely into music, on some level, which leads me to: Supportive.  Appreciative, the furthest thing from ungrateful. Cuz I do a lot and give a lot on all levels. And thoughtful.  Cuz 2 thoughtful ppl make one very satisfied couple, on all levels.
I made this broad I was dealing with , a CD, Wrote her a poem that contained every song title in the Cd and took her to the Soul cafe. Not sure if you know what that is, but It was Malik Yoba's spot. Hot spot. as for the Woman , Let me amend that, the Queen I'm with now, SHE has no idea. I'm bring the romantic levels up. As for what I like Physically in a Woman, Stomachs and legs, Not tryin to deal with a fatty. Like the long, track runner legs. I like the slim , petite, honeys. My favorite feature on a woman is her mentality. Especially if she is to raise my children one day. The children will have their first teacher as their mother. Mentality is primary as well because if you are going to be in a partnership with someone you have to be able to coalesce with their temperament.
Their physical endowments are great, but temperament and mentality supersedes everything else. I've seen people sculpt and mold their bodies with ease, but mentally they are poison.
Being with a person that has already been mentally, physically and emotionally abused is not an easy thing because they are always evaluating your actions through a predefined schema they acquired after failed attempts with others. It becomes second nature to blame someone else for emotional scars that they fail to heal themselves. Open wounds simply get infected. That's my 2 cents and now I'm going back to reading my book.
@ street,
very good point. excellent.
alot of relationships go through unnecessary situations, and most of the times end, just b/c a woman pre-judges what a dude does based on what the last dude did - which not his fault.
THE PRESENT MAN ENDS UP PAYING FOR WHAT THE LAST MAN DID IS BULLSHIT LADIES.
--------------------------
I respect it, Street.
I mean, I asked for physical, specifically, and the mentality woulda fit under the category of what makes her marriagable. But, if u aint particular, I can dig that too.
Me, I work w/ kids who have been thru some real ish..
*fathers either missing or abusive
*drug/alcoholic mothers
*mothers let BFs abuse daughters
..all types o' stuff
Basically, kids, who, for some reason, have parents who failed them to the point where custody who had to be removed.
Depending on who came into their lives after that, will determine who they become in the long run.
Same goes for their parents.
I think the most insightful and beautiful ppl I've ever met have been the ones who have been thru it the most, not even on some biased, but on some real.
My labelmate is the son of a mother who was a Panther and kind of went mentally ill after all o' that was over.  Single parent home, etc.  Could listen to him talk all day, dude's mind is just genius.
Different friends of mine.
Those who have been thru it are the ones who give back. To others they see going thru it right now.  And I can tell u that many kids don't respect it from others who aint never lived it.
So, we may stand on two different sides of the opinion line on that one.
It's not about if the person has been damaged or not, in my book. It's about who it made them in the long run and what the world will gain as a result.
That's why Pac's music was what it was. He pulled from his struggle and his heart w/ a passion.
All in all...I'd say don't dispose of the ones who been thru the ringer..people stronger than they give themselves credit for.
Whatever it is?  We can work thru it. And we'll be even more incredible/strong as a result.
Question 4.) what makes a woman marriagable and why?
=============
My bad dope.  Im late to answer your question.  you know I was reading the wornd board when said check it lmao.
But you got some good questions.  For me basically, I got to be able to look at her when she just woke up and still be like, "damn she sexy"
like if a girl can where plain as shit and make that shit look like its the shit, thats a turn on.
She also gotta be real emotionally intelligent.  Like when you think of wifey, you think of the woman thats going to set the tone of your house for you and your kids.
im a complex, intelligent, sometimes challenging dude, that can have an intimidating presence.  Insecure females dont last too long.  They usually think one day imma leave them, or that Im too smart or some shit.
But a secure woman, who can handle a good convo, has aspirations, care about herself, good with kids, sexy (a must), sexual but classy,
and absolutely she can not get off on making a guy jealous.  I really cant stand a chick that like to see you mad or something, or can potentially have dudes at each other kneck for her own amuzement.  I feel secure with a even tempo'd, secure with herself female, who dont need too much attention from guys, and also look pretty 24/7 with none of the hollywood addidives
ya dig?
also, a girl that keeps her toes maintenanced, smell good, and take care of her hair.  thats a turn on.  and i dont have no feet fetish or nuttin, it just say a lot about her.  I aint really for the boujie (?) chicks.  But I cant care more about cleanliness and maintenance than her.  I got to be the sloppy one, or the one that need a lil touch up, not her, ya mean.
Here's a question for you, you stated that you probably wouldn't get with a guy who hasn't struggled, but what if you met a guy who had a good upbringing, smart, has goals and is genuinely interested in you? Would you leave him alone, because he's boring, or would you give him some burn? I'll add the fact that he's an artist to make this guy more appealing.
----------------------------
I dated someone who had that upbringing. We were lightweight best friends, and the fact that we didn't take it there (sex) is 'prolly why we are still good friends to this day.
I don't rule anything out.  Cuz God has ways of showing u that anything is possible.
But it still stands..I relate better to ppl who have come from struggle.  And they relate better to me, as well. IMO
Nah I feel you, I was just asking a question and you answered it. That's peace.
You should have heard me yelling' get off the ropes' I've been saying that Roy needed to give it up after whippin on Bum ass Ruiz. First Latino Champ and he's a BUM!!!!! I had to look at my Latino peoples like 'Sup with your man?' I highly doubt that we would ever see a Roy, Bernard fight. That would be hot.
1) Smile. A genuine smile blies a true heart. You can't fake a real smile.
2) Filled the crib with flowers, had champagne and candles lit. Her favorite Alecia Keys on the stereo. She walked in from working the late shift at the hospital and I took her coat. She looked around the living room and then at me with a slightly puzzled expression on her face. That was when I dropped onto one knee busted out the diamond ring and asked her to be my wife. Wedding next August.
3) I think 3 and 4 are the same. She tries. Read the last chapter of Proverbs for the "Virtuous Wife". That is how I see her once we got a house and kids. She works hard to make the relationship better, the household run better and she works at here job hard to give us the extra dough to ease my burden. I've never met anyone who cared enough to really try. That's refreshing and romantic.
I know you said physical features but that's blahzay to me. I mean there are a lot of pretty people in the world and physical attractiveness changes all the time. I've been with some good looking sistahs, but I've learned that it's not all that important if they are fucking lunatics.
What I am saying is I don't want anybody that is mentally, physically, and emotionally damaged working against me to raise my children. I've been through some things myself, but I'll work diligently to never expose my children to those nightmares because it's unnecessary. You can teach children to handle adversity in a stable manner. All of that going through a struggle is fine if it is unavoidable, but no child should have to suffer because their parents suffered. When two people come together they are forging an institution. When children are involved the institution changes. People don't take that seriously enough in my opinion.
Emotional turmoil can lead to genius as in the case of your friend, or a fucked up individual. Tupac was a great artist, but he was also kinda fucked up in the mind. He was unstable, imagine if the brother was more stable as far as his childhood was concerned instead of watching his mom succumb to crack and being bounced around all over the country in different environment that inevitably shaped who he was. We may not have been entertained, but he might still be alive doing something bigger and better than just being a rap star contributing to humanity.
Romance is canned, if you want to be romantic, be yourself.
Important things on my list:
1) Self-Esteem
2) Self-Awareness
3) Self-Motivation
We all have our ups and downs but if a person has those three qualities they can overcome anything.
damn Streetweyes,
u sharp.
got my wheels spinnin.
what u said about a damaged person
workin against u to raise children.
thats deep.
and also about working diligently
not to expose ur kids to traumas.
i think thats all we can ever do.
if both ppl are truly committed to that aim,
id say theyre in damn good shape.
its funny cause like i was sayin,
yesterday was the graduation for our families @ the job.
and this came up, as it always does,
because a big focus of what we do w/ the adults
is teaching parenting skills.
we try to teach the parents,
amongst other things,
how their painful past experiences
transfer into their experience as parents.
just as they were transferred by their parents
while they were being parented.
and its a powerful process to watch unfold.
transgenerational cycles becoming recognized.
(lack of awarness of them
is at the root of the issues that lead
99% of our youth directly into the streets
and then ----> juvenile justice system.
that coupled with societal issues such as,
racism, poverty, grief & PTSD, substance use,
violence, crime, loss of a sense of community, etc.)
and it carries on.
that is, until a generation comes along,
with the awareness and strength to break the cycle.
but the real point im making is that pretty much all
of the parents i see are truly well-intentioned,
they love their children.
yet they're often too afraid to really do
the diligent work u refer to.
ultimately, to heal themselves 1st.
which imo is a universal task for each and everyone of us.
u feel me?
and then the flip side of all that is how often parents
in attempts to prevent any suffering or struggling
on their childrens parts,
because of what they've experienced.
(which is totally well-intentioned, right?)
but can still overcompensate, to the point,
that they cause equally, if not worse,
detrimental issues in their children.
believe that shit or not...
i cudnt at first.
but a child thats been neglected or even abused
often has a greater chance at success,
than a child thats been over-sheltered, smothered,
constantly rescued, not given clear boundaries,
and babied up.
u know what?
when i first realized that,
i was hella disappointed.
like, shit, parents cant win but lose. LOL
even tho thats not the type of parent i am no way.
just sayin...LMAO
and what u said about emotional turmoil
leading to genius,
yeah fa sho.
i think its the resiliency factor.
it often breeds exceptional talent, strength, motivation,
determination, and hopefully awareness and insight.
sometimes those last two are lackin tho
and thats where we often see self-destruction.
damn this convo done really sparked a lot of my internal,
on a variety of levels.
thoughts, memories, experiences...of my own.
and those i love.
even my clients.
everybody has a story to tell.
most of the time it just goes untold.
AND COMPLETELY MESSES IT UP!
I'll say it again...if you're the best white rapper alive, then you don't have to mention you are WHITE.
Look at EM....
Anyhow...
Just saw Soul Men and Max Payne (you know how I do...two fur:)...
Soul Men was good. Sharon Leal is so dayum fine.  I'm telling you....her and Kerry Washington...they go in my top 5.
As long as they don't smoke!
But Soul Men was hella funny.  Bernie did his thing, and I'ma really miss his work.  I read somewhere where they said it was gonna be Bernie's "breakthrough"...I felt like Bernie already broke through with the American people.  And I thought the movie he did with Ashton was better...funnier.  But Bernie and Sam did their thing...
Max Payne was so/so.  I mean, it was good, and it followed the video game to a degree....but it veered off too.  I don't know if I would want to see a part II.  They left it open, but I don't think it'll happen.
I want to see that Watchmen and Punisher when they drop tho...And that Bond next week.
Yeah, I'ma movie buff...
@ the cat that was talking about Boxers.  It may have started in England, but we mastered that sh*t, so just stop it.  Just because your Welsh boy did his thing, don't get it twisted.  Ya'll still been gettin' ya'lls asses whizziped over the years.  With the exception of Lennox, Calzaghe, and the cat that got his azz beat by Mayweather, ya'll ain't really did sh*t...And I don't want to hear no stuff about what folks COULDA done in the 90's...they didn't.  Period.
Put it like this...
When I think of the best TRUE fighters...the ones people fear, none of them come from across the pond.  Sorry...
Ya'll wild...
Roy got his azz beat last night, but you know what...he's old.
Roy in his prime was a beast...don't be so disrespectful....
but these are the things that would allow me
what qualities i find attractive,
just str8 physically...
thats kinda hard cause thats rarely
what catches my attention enuff to really interest me.
but i've always been attracted 2 dark-skinned dudes,
since my 1st boyfriend in elementary. LMAO 3x
also those eyes,
u know just the kind u wanna look up in.
thats an extra couple points.
but i also like shoulders and arms.
mid-height.
and i truly feel u on the flaws thing 2, sis.
idk y, i always been like that.
but thats always been attractive 2 me.
i guess around that same logic,
flawless dudes are nice to look at,
but not necessarily to be with. LOL
thats just my humble opinion.
but flaws do seem to make a man more down to earth.
not as perfect, or as expectant of perfection.
so with that said,
i simply gotta be attracted to the person
because i just am.
and let me also note,
for me to even consider any type of relationship,
i would have to feel a sense of genuine equality.
period.
or it could never be anything more than friends.
so beyond that, mos def, 1st and foremost,
its the mind 4 me.
like if he can challenge and stimulate me mentally,
is insightful (this is crucial, a willingness to look @ self),
and focused on self-actualization, has a balanced ego,
is authentic, congruent, loyal/faithful, open-minded,
thinks outside the norm, mature, culturally aware,
stable and consistent (across the board),
self-motivated, responsible,
truly a leader, has a strong sense of virtue & integrity,
is respectful, (gasp!) affectionate outside of sex LOL,
fun to be with and funny,
compassionate, laidback,
some1 i can relate to also as a friend,
can openly and directly communicate,
is even-tempered but assertive,
and keeps addictive behaviors to a minimum.
i cud ride with him.
kap, i was thinking about mind control.
and how people wont move or budge because isreal "has nukes" or the u.s. "has nukes".
man what if they ain't have shit?
what if all it took was us banding together and taking our shit back from these muvafuckas?
what if there where no nukes?
what if what our family seen on them carriers were merely shells?
and what's more is what if our family were allowed to see them just to put the word out in the civilian population?
i have never seen a nuclear explosion.
i can't even trust those testing videos.
i think people restrain themselves because they figure if we do this then they gon nuke us.
now if it wasn't no such thing as nukes or bioterror weapons, then we would really be under some heavy mind control.
I don't know that I want to die a non-violent death.  Don't get me wrong, I want to live to be very old...as long as I can still control my bodily functions, and how I get to and from places.
But I don't want to die of cancer or some sh*t like that...sh*t that would take forever.  However, MOST people would rather die of some natural cause than a quick and violent death.
I guess I'm saying being shot in the head, or something crazy that would be "quick" vs. laying in a bed in pain for years.
1) Smile. A genuine smile blies a true heart. You can't fake a real smile.
2) Filled the crib with flowers, had champagne and candles lit. Her favorite Alecia Keys on the stereo. She walked in from working the late shift at the hospital and I took her coat. She looked around the living room and then at me with a slightly puzzled expression on her face. That was when I dropped onto one knee busted out the diamond ring and asked her to be my wife. Wedding next August.
3) I think 3 and 4 are the same. She tries. Read the last chapter of Proverbs for the "Virtuous Wife". That is how I see her once we got a house and kids. She works hard to make the relationship better, the household run better and she works at here job hard to give us the extra dough to ease my burden. I've never met anyone who cared enough to really try. That's refreshing and romantic.
I know you said physical features but that's blahzay to me. I mean there are a lot of pretty people in the world and physical attractiveness changes all the time. I've been with some good looking sistahs, but I've learned that it's not all that important if they are fucking lunatics.
What I am saying is I don't want anybody that is mentally, physically, and emotionally damaged working against me to raise my children. I've been through some things myself, but I'll work diligently to never expose my children to those nightmares because it's unnecessary. You can teach children to handle adversity in a stable manner. All of that going through a struggle is fine if it is unavoidable, but no child should have to suffer because their parents suffered. When two people come together they are forging an institution. When children are involved the institution changes. People don't take that seriously enough in my opinion.
Emotional turmoil can lead to genius as in the case of your friend, or a fucked up individual. Tupac was a great artist, but he was also kinda fucked up in the mind. He was unstable, imagine if the brother was more stable as far as his childhood was concerned instead of watching his mom succumb to crack and being bounced around all over the country in different environment that inevitably shaped who he was. We may not have been entertained, but he might still be alive doing something bigger and better than just being a rap star contributing to humanity.
-----------------------------------
I can't call it on Pac cuz that may have very well been his purpose (his contribution) and then exit stage left at 25.
I asked specifically about features (outside of T & A) b/c that's all I really see on the board. I wanted to kno bout them quirky attractions ppl have: toes, neck, teeth, etc.
I think u interpreted the question to be superficial, like we can't talk about physical attraction.
Mentality goes w/out sayin, it's part of what would make the man want to marry his woman. Falls under the marriagable category.
I don't care how educated, insightful, wise, and intelligent someone is, they're still human.  Our bodies naturally respond to physical attraction (and not just sexual arousal: heartbeat speed up, etc).
No matter how 'blazhzay' the notion might be, I doubt a female can grab u on mentality alone, if u cringe when u look at her.  Just like ppl have turn-ons, they have turn-offs: discolored toenails and rough feet, cottage-cheese thighs, bad hygiene, hairy, etc.
I don't think it's gonna dumb anyone down or make em' appear superficial if they happen to have certain features they like. We're human, we're wired for attraction.
Far as struggle, of course no one wants to be w/ someone who is straight up emotionally, unstable.  I don't want some man I can't trust not to be abusive to our kids (mentally or physically) or who feels the need to over assert himself w/ me to compensate for what he feels he's missing as a man.  My point is that some damage does not completely discredit and discard a person.
How did they manage? Who did it make them?  U need heat to purify gold.
I'm not discrediting anyone who has had stable/good upbringing. If his life is like he stepped out of a Cosby show episode, coo.
But that'll raise questions, as well: How will he respond to adversity, should we cross it?  If he's never really had to before. Will he fall apart or shut down?
People respond to adversity in their childhood different ways: some continue the cycle, and some use it as an example of what they will never put their kids thru.  People who I believe give of themselves to the world the most are those who have been thru the fire.
We all respect the 'came from nothing to something' stories, whether it be Oprah, a ballplayer (Sebastian Telfair, Through The Fire), an actor (Jim Carrey was homeless) or a rapper.
I'm just saying adversity doesn't automatically equal spoiled goods.  Everyone responds to it differently, it does not automatically equal pyschotic.
i ain't get a chance to holla yesterday.
But I gotta respond to everybody.
Who's up in here?
June you in here? I watched what you sent
I'll go into that in a minute.
Twon, you here? those jail jawns you sent sparked a lotta shit for me and my fam in real life. I'll tell you when you come in.
sevenf seal, fizz, 518, bfg, and boss up, about the aids thing from yesterday y'all covered basically everything I wanted to say, from the myths, to the stats to the scare tactics to population control.
but that shit made me think of something else about white people's intentions for africa.
Fizz and smackaninjaqwik, about the people's mom's dying er'ryday, that shit ain't no joke.
I can't disagree, and as much as i hate the metrosexual's entertainment product, that shit had me on fire on monday and it made me think about all the chicks who'd rather roll the dice on tampering with themselves like that because they feel unnacceptable.
I've cooled out since monday.
But I changed in a major way. Or maybe I'm just looking at shit differently now.
You know how Katt Williams was like they call it self esteem cuz you gotta fix that shit yourself?
But I started thinking about how guilty I was.
About all the big girls I fronted on.
I mean rollers* too.
And was like naw, I got to let this jawn go cuz she 'ont complement me. If my old heads see me wit her they gon be like you could got a flyer chick than that. My dad gon be pissed. I won't be able to take this chick to no awards. Naw, I gotta bounce.
It's early, though.
I mean like, what's today? Wednesday, right? So I'm still evaluatin this new thought process.
Like coulda really settle down with a chunky jawn?
Monday y'all know I was heated.
Today I'm coastin on autopilot. All facilities intact.
But I still feel the same way.
I just don't wanna contribute.
Lord knows, I ain't got no problem creepin a big girl. I have a lotta fun with em behind closed doors. I just need to stop frontin on them.
I just ain't tryin to contribute to that "you ain't the right weight. or height or look bullshit."
If her mind right, and all her junk work, I shouldn't be letting these jawns go.
makin think something wrong with them cuz they 'ont match the conventions.
Conventions that I didn't even make up.
Now I'm bout to start wilin and talk about who creates popular opinion.
Lemme cool out.
Yo, I got some funny ass shit to post for everybody later from my man. But first let us tackle this real shit.
Yo, you took the words out my mouth cuz my brother asked me if kanye west was gon blame himself.
But I elected not to speak on kanye just the situation as if affects "big bone-ded" women.
I dunno, I'm just trying to cool out on the whole "Yuck she too fat shit".
I was just at lunch with some guys who was doing that shit.
And they're dead serious.
So in my head I'm sayin, hol' up if you dudes was stranded on an island and ain't no pussy but this big girl, you gon pass?
All I know is nowadays I'm just gone go 'head and flirt with all the girls now.
She ain't gotta have a weave down her back. Or long hair. Or whatever the trend is dictatin'.
Ay June, so boom right, I watched the sara bartman thing.
The first half was informative, then the sister jumped into some poetry.
I'm not really into that. But it was cool.
Then the other one was all poetry so I was prepared by then.
How you make a black woman smile was the name of it right?
I dunno why I liked that one better.
You know these issues are so complex. It's like an infinite gray area.
But absolutes never solve problems. I mean that as in absolute thinking.
Like judging chicks who shake their ass.
Which is what the Bartmaan vid was about.
Sometimes I don't really know about speaking on certain issues.
I know what I was taught and I know what lessons I was given.
But a lotta times, a lotta times, I feel like some shit is too obvious.
and these days if you gotta expend energy telling grown ass folks obvious shit, then they should be left behind.
I've said it before, but the reason there are no black leaders, is because the time to be led has come and passed.
The sara bartmann vid and others like it, I dunno, I feel like we should be waaaaaaaayyy past such elementary nation building, pride instilling motivators.
We shouldn't need that shit anymore.
It should be obvious.
I just shake my head and be like if my people don't get it by now, they ain't never gon get it.
I ain't sayin' shit.
Then on other days I be like I got to speak on this.
Life is complex.
how do feel about what mike jackson has done to himself?
what do you think the elementary stages of those actions are?
if one wears a disguise then they are not truly happy. (wigs, waves, hair plugs, fake fingers, fake nails, fake eyelashes, fake ears, butt implants, etc are disguises)
they are not truly happy with who they are.
Teri.
Lemme make this short but sweet.
Individual thought = dime.
A woman's that's herself.
BFG and June,
tell the dude he needs a box of the curiously strong mints, altoids.
Throw you on your back.
Now assure him that he cain't be scurred to get his whole face wet.
and tell him to just swish his whole face around down there.
so boom,
tell him pop an altoid mint.  have the pack nearby, take the tissue paper out.
you lay back.
and tell him to lick and nibble on the "love button" (from alice walker's color purple) and constantly keep an altoid in his mouth.
replacing as they dissolve.
also you gotta tell him to not be afraid to chase you.
cuz you gon be squirmin up the bed or the floor.
he must not compromise his position.
gawga, anything you wanna add?
you know what teri?
I think since i wrote all that I might as well go into the dime thing a little more.
i think each person has a class.
weight/height
appearance
status
age
If I was a dwarf, I wouldn't subject myself to the ridicule or rejection of chasing 6' 2" uma thurman blondes.
you know what I'm sayin?
so boom if a chick's like 240 and 5' 4"
there is a dude who is proportianately built like her.
or if there's a chick that's like 128 and 5' 9
there's a guy for her as well.
same thing for race.
it's relative and it varies.
this is purely my personal opinion.
which, since I'm rushing I reserve the right to alter.
but what I mean is sometime people should get in where they fit in.
accept your own and be yourself.
now, that's step one.
after I get someone in my "class"
then i go for the individual thought.
this is by far the most valuable and important quality to me now.
If I have to explain to her why music (which is something very dear to me) made from the smart and not from the heart is damaging to art and people as a whole, then she is not capable of individual thought.
If she cannot see through the associated press' smokescreen.
then she's not capable of individual thought.
you catch my drift?
most women you meet don't have independent thought.
so of course finding a true dime or diamond is a rare occurence.
Then what do you think the route is, female emcee?
Press everything up yourself?
I'm askin people about that. I don't know how it works.
But from here, I truly think the game is the same there just is no sensational, must-have product.
Not only can you predict what's gonna be released.
You can also predict everything about people's albums.
Album format.
Tempo.
Stupid-as-fuck "featurings".
Like every album is a compilation piece.
You can predict the singles about the club and liquor.
The token bullshit ass one about how they miss their homies.
You can predict the image.
The cookie cutter dickhead with a fitted, excessive jewelry, dark as shades.
Unchecked and misdirected aggression.
The hyper sexualized female performer. Haven't seen a female emcee since Rah Digga and that girl off MF Doom's Food album.
Naturally this provides no excitement.
And I recently found out that everybody no matter how old they are or where they're from know's exactly what real Hip Hop lyricism and beatmaking sounds like.
I think one of the answers is for people to probably create a new genre of music and call it Urban Pop.
BTW, I didn't specifically target questions like Marriageable because even if I get married it won't be in the sense that the Christian doctrine lays out and for all intents and purposes outside of the business perks the actual legal certificate is a byproduct. Romance is canned, if you want to be romantic, be yourself.
Important things on my list:
1) Self-Esteem
2) Self-Awareness
3) Self-Motivation
We all have our ups and downs but if a person has those three qualities they can overcome anything.
----------------------------------------
Christianity is not the only faith that has marriage.  From other faiths to historic ceremonies w/ other ethnic groups (I aint gonna say tribe b/c the word 'tribe' has a savage connotation), the notion of marriage is widespread.
There are many interesting ways the "milestone" has been crossed.
I'm not speaking from marriage as an institution.
IMO, sex is just a physical representation of what your souls/minds are ALREADY doing.
And marriage is just a symbol of what you two already are.
If the person is your soulmate, it doesn't matter whether others can verify it by external factors: marriage license, ring, etc.
A marriage ceremony can be nothing more than a celebration of the lives you two have ahead of you.
Or for the purpose of taking his last name as your own.
It does not verify what already exists for you--it can for other ppl, though..
when ppl have weddings, they invite relatives and friends they aint seen in years, etc.  Day to day life gets hectic, so it's hard to stay in touch w/ everyone u care about in life, much less, sit down and share the story of how you met your soulmate/life partner, how it unfolded, what you two share, etc.
But that ceremony touches the surface of what you two share (although it's merely the tip of the iceberg) for others to come to ONE place at ONE time and celebrate w/ u.  The reception, as well.
It's just a fancy way to inform everybody: Yo..this is my life partner.
When u meet that person that's so incredibly close/similar to you that talkn to them is damn near like talkn 2 urself..u aint gotta explain much b/c they already know..your straight TWIN mentally and spiritually?
The only confirmations you need are already there, unfolding between u two.
Marriage aint no validation or confirmation for the two of you.  Simply a celebration.
ROMANCE:
Yes, being yourself alone is romantic. That's why they are already a couple, obviously they seen the potential + the attraction, etc etc etc.
Being romantic can symbolize how u express your love for someone. Just like a child thinks their parent walks on water..and the parent knows how much their child loves them. But they still do something thoughtful like draw a picture for you. ("This is for you Mommy")  And them colorful stick figures of you two holding hands touch you more than any material item anybody anywhere can buy for you.  Romance is the same, notion. I aint talkn the "usual" flowers and candy, stuff we've been told was meaningful. Every damn day is Valentine's Day when you're w/ the right person.  I'm talkn bout that calendar Kappagem said his woman bought for him. I'm talkn bout that proposal HustlinUpNorth described.
And u know what?: u know what the hell I mean. Stop makn me type it all out.  :/
Specially being out here in L.A. on the west side of town and seeing how they conduct themselves.
This has me so pissed off. Got me thinking about all the white "friends" michael jackson had that said right in his face,
"sure, get a nose job. You're nose is too big as it is."
"Why not get your skin bleached? who wants to be THAT dark?"
This has got me really pissed off.
Seriously in a life changing way. I'll explain later.
Boss, you can call the whites miniorities.
(and if they call you a nigger, call them a recessive. it cuts way deeper.)
I hope this turns into some sorta wake call for all the latinas, sistahs, and asians who fell they ain't small and white-like.
For the record, since nobody else wont say it.
Baby, you don't need a fuckin weave.
You don't need those microbraids.
YES your ass looks fat in them jeans.
and I love it. C'mere, lemme bite it.
What up fizz?
i ain't get a chance to holla yesterday.
But I gotta respond to everybody.
Who's up in here?
June you in here? I watched what you sent
I'll go into that in a minute.
Twon, you here? those jail jawns you sent sparked a lotta shit for me and my fam in real life. I'll tell you when you come in.
sevenf seal, fizz, 518, bfg, and boss up, about the aids thing from yesterday y'all covered basically everything I wanted to say, from the myths, to the stats to the scare tactics to population control.
but that shit made me think of something else about white people's intentions for africa.
Fizz and smackaninjaqwik, about the people's mom's dying er'ryday, that shit ain't no joke.
I can't disagree, and as much as i hate the metrosexual's entertainment product, that shit had me on fire on monday and it made me think about all the chicks who'd rather roll the dice on tampering with themselves like that because they feel unnacceptable.
I've cooled out since monday.
But I changed in a major way. Or maybe I'm just looking at shit differently now.
You know how Katt Williams was like they call it self esteem cuz you gotta fix that shit yourself?
But I started thinking about how guilty I was.
About all the big girls I fronted on.
I mean rollers* too.
And was like naw, I got to let this jawn go cuz she 'ont complement me. If my old heads see me wit her they gon be like you could got a flyer chick than that. My dad gon be pissed. I won't be able to take this chick to no awards. Naw, I gotta bounce.
It's early, though.
I mean like, what's today? Wednesday, right? So I'm still evaluatin this new thought process.
Like coulda really settle down with a chunky jawn?
Monday y'all know I was heated.
Today I'm coastin on autopilot. All facilities intact.
But I still feel the same way.
I just don't wanna contribute.
Lord knows, I ain't got no problem creepin a big girl. I have a lotta fun with em behind closed doors. I just need to stop frontin on them.
I just ain't tryin to contribute to that "you ain't the right weight. or height or look bullshit."
If her mind right, and all her junk work, I shouldn't be letting these jawns go.
makin think something wrong with them cuz they 'ont match the conventions.
Conventions that I didn't even make up.
Now I'm bout to start wilin and talk about who creates popular opinion.
Lemme cool out.
Yo, I got some funny ass shit to post for everybody later from my man. But first let us tackle this real shit.
-Black People
* "roller" 1. a bitch that's down to "roll out" and fuck er'rybody in the squad.
I know exactly what you sayin.
Yo, you took the words out my mouth cuz my brother asked me if kanye west was gon blame himself.
But I elected not to speak on kanye just the situation as if affects "big bone-ded" women.
I dunno, I'm just trying to cool out on the whole "Yuck she too fat shit".
I was just at lunch with some guys who was doing that shit.
And they're dead serious.
So in my head I'm sayin, hol' up if you dudes was stranded on an island and ain't no pussy but this big girl, you gon pass?
All I know is nowadays I'm just gone go 'head and flirt with all the girls now.
She ain't gotta have a weave down her back. Or long hair. Or whatever the trend is dictatin'.
-====
Ay June, so boom right, I watched the sara bartman thing.
The first half was informative, then the sister jumped into some poetry.
I'm not really into that. But it was cool.
Then the other one was all poetry so I was prepared by then.
How you make a black woman smile was the name of it right?
I dunno why I liked that one better.
You know these issues are so complex. It's like an infinite gray area.
But absolutes never solve problems. I mean that as in absolute thinking.
Like judging chicks who shake their ass.
Which is what the Bartmaan vid was about.
Sometimes I don't really know about speaking on certain issues.
I know what I was taught and I know what lessons I was given.
But a lotta times, a lotta times, I feel like some shit is too obvious.
and these days if you gotta expend energy telling grown ass folks obvious shit, then they should be left behind.
I've said it before, but the reason there are no black leaders, is because the time to be led has come and passed.
The sara bartmann vid and others like it, I dunno, I feel like we should be waaaaaaaayyy past such elementary nation building, pride instilling motivators.
We shouldn't need that shit anymore.
It should be obvious.
I just shake my head and be like if my people don't get it by now, they ain't never gon get it.
I ain't sayin' shit.
Then on other days I be like I got to speak on this.
Life is complex.
I gotta stop skimming the boards.
Ct's finest,
You're a lady. so I'm gonna be easy with you.
Anything other than that violates man law.
Let me ask you a question,
Before we begin, why do you think madame c.j. walker is highly popularized?
how do you define self-hate?
how do feel about what mike jackson has done to himself?
what do you think the elementary stages of those actions are?
if one wears a disguise then they are not truly happy. (wigs, waves, hair plugs, fake fingers, fake nails, fake eyelashes, fake ears, butt implants, etc are disguises)
they are not truly happy with who they are.
your post is giving so much to go off on.
let's switch gears for a moment. and talk about the "you'll be damned if you do something to please a man."
that is a flaw.
a critical flaw for a young lady. and the root of so much gender friction.
we are social beings that are made to complement the opposite sex.
not compete.
women are not to compete and antagonize men, sis.
and vice versa.
so long as you are single you should be trying to find, please and keep a man.
not give him grief.
that's fundamental and natural.
Individual thought = dime.
A woman's that's herself.
BFG and June,
tell the dude he needs a box of the curiously strong mints, altoids.
Throw you on your back.
Now assure him that he cain't be scurred to get his whole face wet.
and tell him to just swish his whole face around down there.
so boom,
tell him pop an altoid mint.  have the pack nearby, take the tissue paper out.
you lay back.
and tell him to lick and nibble on the "love button" (from alice walker's color purple) and constantly keep an altoid in his mouth.
replacing as they dissolve.
also you gotta tell him to not be afraid to chase you.
cuz you gon be squirmin up the bed or the floor.
he must not compromise his position.
Then what do you think the route is, female emcee?
Press everything up yourself?
I'm askin people about that. I don't know how it works.
But from here, I truly think the game is the same there just is no sensational, must-have product.
Not only can you predict what's gonna be released.
You can also predict everything about people's albums.
Album format.
Tempo.
Stupid-as-fuck "featurings".
Like every album is a compilation piece.
You can predict the singles about the club and liquor.
The token bullshit ass one about how they miss their homies.
You can predict the image.
The cookie cutter dickhead with a fitted, excessive jewelry, dark as shades.
Unchecked and misdirected aggression.
The hyper sexualized female performer. Haven't seen a female emcee since Rah Digga and that girl off MF Doom's Food album.
Naturally this provides no excitement.
And I recently found out that everybody no matter how old they are or where they're from know's exactly what real Hip Hop lyricism and beatmaking sounds like.
I think one of the answers is for people to probably create a new genre of music and call it Urban Pop.
-Black People
I actually liked that post, BP.  I thought it was real talk, 'specially that Urban Pop statement.  And the format??  Real spit.
I don't get offended by the 'I aint seen an female mc since..' cuz chances are, they aint went and listened to my music. And w/ only 4 songs on myspace, u wont be able to sum me up as an artist anyway.  I miss when female emcees STOOD for something, and STOOD together.  They got female rappers on some catty ish now. Like the success is one piece of meat and there's 2 lions.  And they hungry. So they gotta tear each other to bits and may the best (wo)man win.
That's that BS right there.
But u kno who a force to be reckoned w/ and as soon as she change up her lyrical content, it's a wrap?  Lil Mama. She got flows.  She just hasn't matured her content. Watch, wait till she older and wiser, etc, droppin knowledge, speakn from the heart and not tryna just appeal to 'pop' culture. She a beast, IMO.
also those eyes,
u know just the kind u wanna look up in.
now, with lighter brown eyes.
thats an extra couple points.
mid-height.
Ahhhh, I shoulda known u dated brovas. I'on kno why that never crossed my mind. I see we got some of the same taste..
except for the eyes..
I'on kno what it is..I don't kno if it registers as too "pretty" in my book or what..I don't do light eyes. or light skin.
Both as a combo is def. a no-no.
Maybe seen cats get a lil too ''dolled up'' b/c they had that..puttn swirls in they damn sideburns, etc. (stomach turns)
I can't stand a pretty man.
Now on a dark-skinned man?  them medium-brown eyes are beautiful. Nothing lighter than that.
I like the blue-black Amistad nuccas, BFG.  j/k, lol
But fa real, I like dark, bold, rich features.  Hair jet black so them thick eyebrows is shiny & ish.. Dark skin.  Black ass gums. j/k, lol.
Dark, rich features.  Think Sierra Leoneon cats.
Man, True Blood was good tonight.  I think I'm getting "hooked" as the season wears down.  I've seen every episode, but they get better and better.  Just like Brotherhood...
But peep this...
BP, don't know if you ever watch HBO, but they are making a miniseries about Saddam....I'm sure it's going to be "biased", but I can already tell it's gonna be very, very interesting...
I was watching some of the clips, and you start to wonder just how much we've been brainwashed into thinking he was such a "demon".
I'm not condoning some of the things he was doing, but they live by a different code over there...and amazingly, it's much more "loyal" than what we have here in America.  Over there, the things he was doing that may be "questionable" to the Western Hemisphere were just OPEN.  I don't think people here realize we do the same thing, we just make it sneaky...like...
9/11 - We knew about that sh*t...
Katrina - Great response time...
AIDS - We helped manufacture that ish...
Crack - Everybody knows the CIA made that happen...
I mean, I could go on and on....but it's crazy.  Hell, we are over there right now killin' innocent brown babies in the middle east, and we continue to meddle in the world's business on the regular.
Then we wonder why so called "terrorists" be blowin our sh*t up.
I'ma side with what this cat said in one of the clips in the movie...
"It's war...what do they expect us to do?  Send flowers?"...
I'm not for the innocent dying, but I think America (our America) needs to realize it goes BOTH ways.  I get tired of hearing these people say "country first", but they don't realize their COUNTRY is the biggest, as Bush would say, "terrorizers" in the world (I had to f*ck with Bush real quick:)....
I just hope...nah, I just WISH America would recognize this...
cause i owe him like 700 + pgs
for gettin him 2 read, "Swan's Song."
which was, as he put it,
"a disrespectful" 9 hundred and sum'n pgs.
so Dope,
well i cant say i really date nobody right now. LOL
i was just sayin what i find attractive physically.
what catches my eye,
and what type of dudes ive always seemed to mess with.
now far as the eyes, no, most def not "light" eyes.
(or skin, even tho i dont say that out loud no more
cause both my sons are light, pretty boys LMAO)
i just mean, well, yeah,
i guess what u said medium brown
as opposed to str8 dark brown all the time.
actually thats prolly the color of my eyes,
that im talkin bout,
if i had to pinpoint an exact color. LOL
oh yeah and thats what else i was gon say,
i like some ruggedness in re: flaws.
of course good hygiene and all that is a must,
but like not to where he tryna look better than me,
as the female. LOL
just a lil rugged not too too polished.
and nice hands, i forgot about that...
okay thats it 4 me.
ay, but i happened to come up on a romance story,
how bout that?
i just lucked up on hearin it.
i went 2 see my cousin tonight.
he came to visit his momma out here.
so my drunk ass uncle & his drunk ass wife
(who i love to death but work the shit out my nerves),
my momma and us went to see him and his girlfriend.
apparently they just got engaged on Friday.
they went to the City and he proposed to her
at the Golden Gate bridge.
said he surprised her,
cause u know,
they were just supposed to be sightseeing,
far as she knew.
but he been plannin it for 2 months,
since he knew they were coming out here.
so they were walkin along on the Golden Gate,
and he just turned to her,
got on 1 knee and proposed.
my ti ti caught a pic of it with the fog rollin in, they said.
how sweet is that?
awwww, i truly didnt know he had it in him.
they was cute.
im happy for them.
and all i hear is my ti ti at her dude,
like when we gettin married????
So Check It...
Yo....I'm thinkin bout doing some random ish...well, slightly random.
I've already decided I'm definitely moving back West.  The midwest is just too slow for me.  Not that I need it "sped up" or anything, but I love sunshine...people out and about.  Like, just sitting outside and people watching and ish.  I used to be able to do that in Cali. When I was in the bay, I could just go to Lake Merritt in Oakland, downtown San Francisco, or even just out and about, and watch people.  Random people....and I liked that ish.  Just seeing how people go about life.  I met crazy folks...Was working out one time at this gym my girl at the time worked at, and struck up an random conversation w/this one cat.  Turns out he was a millionaire.  I  mean, like worth hundreds of millions.  Nothing fancy.  Just sitting there, actually BORED, because he had all this money and nowhere to invest it.  He had sold an internet based platform or what not.
I met wild folks.  Some were straight up killers, others were artists, others were up and coming artists.  But thing was...I just met random azz people.
Here in the midwest, I don't get that same thing...and with the weather, you don't even be wanting to be out there like that...real talk.  It gets cold, and you want to hibernate.
I miss the weather...the women.....the lifestyle.
SO, I'm gonna move back west by the end of next year.  Just got to...
I was actually supposed to be out there by Dec. 31st of this year, but I passed on an offer from a company out there.  The offer just wasn't good enough.
But now I'm definite...gotta get back west.  Even if I just sell everything I own, pay off any miscellaneous debt, and come out there with nothing...got too.
I miss Cali too dayum much.
That's it for my ramble...
Bored...
That Lake Show looking nice tho...
@BP
it was all love i promise
I dig it.
Call me old fashion or maybe it's cause i was raised in the midwest (recent transplant to VA).  And it seems like women out here are all about "what can a man do for me?!?"
Like they won't f with a dude who makes decent money and has a moderate living situation and drives a decent car.  They want someone that lives in the pricey areas, makes stupid money, and throws cash at them constantly.
It's retarded to me.  I've been there... trust and belive money isn't everything.  Sad to say.  Now that's not to say I love strugglin' financially.  But money bags don't equate to happiness.
To me a woman should be takin' care of home.  And treatin' her man like a king.  But some men take advantage of that and treat you more like a maid/cook/sex slave.  So it's a thin line.
It just cracked me up with the way you worded it.
But i do cosign you on the way women view themselves.  But i think it's all women not just women of color.  Any and all of us feel the same way.  And on the part about not being a size 2, cause that ain't me.  But you won't hear me saying "omg look at how fat i am" screw that.  I love me for ME not for what the world see's me as.
I love me first.  Cause if i'm happy with the way i look then it shows.  Guys find that extra sexy.
And to VAGOGETTA:
1) What i find sexy on a dude?  I'mma sucker for nice arms.  You ain't gotta be like LLCOOLJ or anything like that, just tone is nice.. and when you flex, let there be some definition.  And i always love a great smile.  But when I meet someone and i'm vibin' with them I always check out their hands.  You can tell a lot about a man by how they keep their nails and how their hands are.  Not into soft hands.  I love a man who does shit with their hands.  And keep them fingernails clean.
2) Marriage material? I agree a lot with what most folks said.  But in the end of the day... I gotta be able to roll with this dude.  And wake up every morning and wanna be with him.  Good or bad.  And damnit make me laugh.  I don't want our conversations to get old and stale.  I feel like when it's right it's right there isn't really an imaginary check off list (if you got one... your lookin' for the wrong things) you just know when it happens.  And on the primative end... i want a man who enjoys sex and doesn't let it get routine.  Nothing i can't stand more than 'regular' sex.  haha
