TODAY'S RUMORS!

THE NEPTUNES BREAKING UP?

When is the last time we heard the name The Neptunes…as a production team? It's definitely not like the days of Nore and Jay. Well, I am not suggesting they fell off, because clearly they haven't. BUT, I was told that the crew might have broken up or something. I mentioned a week or so ago that Chad had missed a show date with N.E.R.D. I figured it was some family stuff. Then, I heard he's missed several shows. Then, somebody sends me a "tip" and says that Chad and Pharrell broke up. Now, I cannot say this definitively – it's just a rumor. I hope not though. With P claiming to be a PC, I have to say that I have to side with Chad, assuming he is a Mac. LOL.

LIL' JON FINDS A HOME!

No, Lil' Jon wasn't looking for a new piece of real estate. He was looking for a new recording home after the dissolution of TVT Records. Well, you can basically tell your favorite blogger that your favorite illseed said that Lil' Jon has landed a new deal with Universal Republic. YEP. He is now under the umbrella that houses just about everybody, but it also represents Jon's first foray on a major label. I guess all we can do is hope that people aren't "over" Lil' Jon, because it would seem that crunk had died down to a whisper.

SLIM THUG GETS TO FIGHTING?

I don't know exactly what happened – or maybe I do and just ain't saying- but I heard Slim Thug got into some sort of fight in TX. Why? I'm not certain, but I heard it was fairly ugly. Not sure who would want to fight Slim, because he is a pretty big guy. I heard that some people at the event were trying to get into the VIP and didn't get a wrist band so they just started trippin'- aka fighting. I heard, by then, most of the other acts had performed. Didn't stop them from feeling entitled to the VIP section.

Here is a letter I got on the matter:

Dear AllHipHop.com,

Despite what the streets have said, no one was seriously harmed last night @ "The South Up Show." One of the members of Boss Hawg Outlawz did receive a gash inside his mouth and there was some gunfire traded between rival gangs yet reports show no one was seriously hurt (despite the rumors). There was a certain artist who's bus was shot at but fortunately there was no one aboard and we're certainly thankful. We try our best to have safe and sound events and this just wasn't one. Much respect.

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END!

I'm telling you, America, check yourself before you wreck yourself! Here is the latest depressing news! I'm sorry! I have to do it. When you get to be a senior citizen, you want to live your years in peace, right? Well, A 90-year-old Ohio woman attempted to kill herself after she was facing eviction from the home she lived in for 38 years. Addie Polk had fallen victim to some devilish predatory lending institution. Damn devils! She shot herself and, when she was found, she was lying on the ground. The police that found her were actually there to serve her an eviction notice. Ain't that some s**t!!!!!! WHY are people so mean and evil? She didn't die, thankfully and was being treated at a hospital. A 90 year old – committing suicide like that? A true tale about the U.S. home mortgage crisis. Foreclosures are at a record high in America thanks to the banks.

THE GAME'S BROTHER IS BACK TO RAP!

From what I heard, The Game's brother was the one that really had all the street stories, so why should baby bro get all the glory. Check out Big Fase100 as he gets back into rappin' on the mic.

MYA + ILLSEED = MO CHARITY, MO CHARITY!

I'm telling you, I got this. Maino might have his sights on Mya but I'm like a GPS when it comes to her. I found out a lil' charity works she's into! She is making the animals happy ad I don't mean me and Maino...lmao!

ILSEED'S QUICKIES

YO! If you are a felon with reasonable intelligence, you can get out and vote. Please check the laws of your state to find out the details.

Kanye West and Boy George are reportedly working on a song together. Sounds…interesting.

I heard somebody had a Benzino diss coming. I don't know who would bother, but that's the rumor.

EPIC FAIL OF THE DAY

I was going to make Kimbo Slice as the epic fail, but I felt like he would turn me into an epic fail if I met him. So here is the Epic Fail of the Day. This has been on illseed before, but this is classic...sooooo classic.

AFL-CIO's Richard Trumka drops the wisdom when he talks about Racism and Obama.I think I touched on this last week. Yes, I did, but nobody cared. Trumka is the man!

DAME GREASE EXPLAINS THE DMX RUMOR

Last week, I told you about a rumor that Dame Grease, DMX's longtime producer, wasn't messing with DMX. Grease said its not the case...sorta. Check it out.

SHELZ TAPS IN WITH ILLSEED

Naughty By Nature in the Studio.

Looks like they are pulling it together. It's only a few seconds and its only Vinnie, but it's not bad.

Someone Got Lost On Their Way to the Fresh Fest.

So over the weekend San Francisco hosted the Hardly Strictly Blue Grass Festival showcasing artists like Emmy Lou Harris and Ricky Scaggs on aptly names stages like the Rooster stage, the Banjo Stage and the Porch stage. Somehow, in all this country glory, MC Hammer snuck in. Could we be seeing the beginning of a new Hip Hop hybrid? Maybe the "Hardly" at the beginning of the festival name was just for him. And according to Hammer y'all still Can't Touch This.

Another Biography? Maybe. Maybe Not.

Since T.I. signed that 3 picture deal with Screen Gems, his life story on film might be right around the corner. T.I. told the good folks over at the Atlanta Journal Constitution that a story about his life is a consideration. Right now, however, he is working on his first project, Bone Deep, and focused strictly on that. The second of the three projects, Boulevard, is not a definite at this point. But he did say he is writing and the autobiography is amongst his many projects, including another movie called For Sale that Grand Hustle is doing in conjunction with New Line Cinema. Whew…. I'm tired just thinking about his schedule. Get on your grinds folks. Get on your grinds.

Everyone I know can rattle this song off verbatim. I won't even comment on its horrifically low ranking on VH1's list. I guess I should just be glad he was incorporated and shut the hell up. Enjoy.

Jay-Z Rocks New Voters in Detroit…

The show was Saturday and the price of admission was registering to vote. Needless to say, the Cobo Arena was sold out. While Jay made it no secret who he supports, he kept his distance from Obama as much as he could suggesting this was something he was doing on his own and any issue with his show should be aimed at him and not the Presidential hopeful.

"This is the most important election in your lifetime. Now, I'm really not a politician. I'm not running for president. What I say tonight cannot be held against Barack Obama. I'm just a free citizen exercising his free speech. I'm not here to tell you who to vote for. I'm voting for Barack Obama, but that's just me."

The concert goers stood in longs lines for the opportunity to see the show and to make sure they can cast a ballot in November. For some, it will be their first.

The Vice President has Been Chosen!

Well, at least the VP in Hustler Magazine's world. Seems Mr. Flynt has confirmed that the film he was doing with Sarah Palin as his muse is done. He hasn't leaked the title of the film yet, but it has been reported that adult film star Lisa Ann pulled the coveted lead role. Does she look like Palin; not really. But who looks at their faces anyway?

The image “http://www.allhiphop.com/photos/flicks/images/20556459/original.aspx” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

[Illseed note: that boobie bird looks nothing like Sarah Palin!!]

Who Won the World Series of Hip Hop? The World May Never Know.

The voting was supposed to close this weekend and a winner was to be announced. Well, according to the website, we have some hanging chads or better yet some hanging Oooo's. Looks like the artists all had some sort of code assigned to them that the folks who voted were supposed to text to the vote counters or whatever. Well, the codes started with zeros which people thought were O's (the letter) and practically none of the votes can be counted. If you are interested in casting a second vote, new codes can be found on the website.

Alrighty folks, that will be all. Shelz taps out!

BUSTA'S ARAB MONEY DANCE!

This sure is fun! Busta Bus getting his swagger back!

MYSTERIOUS GIVING OUT CAREER ADVICE!?

I don't even know if the kiddies out there remember Mysterious! She was one of the rappers on Diddy's first foray into reality TV. She got kicked off for some reason. When she did, she was like the Hulk stomping out of there breaking stuff. With that said, I'm not sure she's the one to take advice from. My speakers are messed up so I can't hear what she is saying. Anyway, apparently she just had a baby and lives in NJ.

MAINO SLAPS YOUNG BERG...MORE DETAILS!!

Okay if you haven't heard by now Maino slapped a certaing yung man! Maino checked in with "Live with Kendra G and DJ Touchtone" to give the full details on why he had to hit him. He even talks about how the yung man called him the next day to apologize! Check out the video interview to get all the details and Maino even breaks down why ex-cons should and can vote come election day!

Morning Debt Slaves!!! Krispy Kremes r on the table...

I watched that Zeitgeist Addendum a lil bit ago too. He kept this one simple and understandable. The first one had the 9/11 and religion aspect which I think turns a lot of ppl away. They put it into the "conspiracy theory" zone and choose to ignore it. In short..It's all about the financial system...how corrupt it is...and how we are so screwed if we don't break free from it. Here is the link once more :

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7065205277695921912

If $10,000,000,000 dollars can create $90,000,000,000 dollars out of thin air then how much money/debt will the $700,000,000,000 "bailout" create?

I liked the part about the "terrorist" being created to take away our freedoms and protect the system. They said 1 million ppl are on the terrorist watch list. I bet anyone who's watched Zeitgeist part 1 or 2 has been added to that list.

Anybody read that Ron Paul Book: The Revolution A Manifesto
Thats the next one I'm gonna check out.

Happy late B-day to K. Bean

Kappa & BFG ...yes this is some of the stickiest ickiest ever photographed by man. I should change the pic maybe? I've had it up almost a year now...lol

For all the Crooked I fans check the Block Obama mixtape if u haven't yet.

Forrealz I appreciate all the ppl here on this little rumors page and all the different topics ya'll touch on. I've learned so much  just from some of the videos dropped on here, book reccomendations and all that. Everybody out there do like Dead Prez said and turn off the radio! Turn off that bullshit! I had to turn off that tv and start self educating myself on whats really going on. Alot of ppl really r walking around like zombies and I was one of 'em. In the past six months or so my whole outlook on life has changed and thats a good thing and it will continue to change as long as I keep an open mind and continue to want to learn. So everyone keep droppin gems.

The Neptunes are Pharrell and Chad and N.E.R.D. is Pharrell Chad ad I think his name is Brian maybe? But I have always known this would happen. Chad is the musician of the two. Pharrell always takes the glory of the two and is in the spotlight and singing and shit. Pharrell just wishes he was Kanye or Lupe if you really think about it. But we will see how Pharrell can make beats on his own and see who the real talent was.  Hey Illseed just cuz Slim Thug is 6'6 dont mean he can fight. I remember when my sis-in-law was a manager at Sam Goody ages ago and Slim came in all like, "girl you know who I is?" to buy all his cds and bounced his check haha. Also when umm I think it was Big Pic or Lestor Roy  (I may be mistaken but it was someone formerly of Swisha House bootlegging his cds) who beat up Slim and he ran, but that was prob early 2000's. Does that really prove something for Maino by slapping Yung Berg? People just need to not mind him any and leave the poor lil kid alone. I wanna see Mano slap someone his own size and catch someone off guard and see if hes a tough guy.

People were making goodbye threads and stuff and people were scared to check their PM messages or click links lol. Everyone was questinging who was hasn't been taken over yet. Then somebody took over Heat Wave's account and was posting threats. I came back this morning and all of the threads and post relating to it were gone and everyone is keeping quite on it. We will see what happens 2nite. It might have been Choice or someone who knows how to hack playing pranks.

Honestly, Young Berg is making us Midwest niggas look soft. I remember reading an artivle and he Berg was like "50 is giving him advice", I hope this nigga understand to bob and weave next time.

Someone on here said Lil Jon killed hiphop and it was coon music, WOW! I should touch on that but if you still sayin' coon, then we know what u on. Niggas ain't feelin that racist bullshit.

*Jay doing that concert is hot

*That Epic fail is horrible.  I remember reading it on CNN days back, as well as seeing it on TV...just all bad.

*That porno chick looks NOTHING like Palin...but I'm sure she'll do her JOB in her flick...lol

Now, this whole Maino thing...

I was one of the FIRST people to say Maino wrong for smacking this dude, or roughing up Yung Berger...but here's the thing as I hear it from Maino's point of view...

Berg came at him sideways, on some "I heard you been talking slick about me" type ish...

Maino ends up smacking him....and that's it.  If anything, that's WAY better than 30-40 dudes jumping him, robbing him of his jewelry and/or cash, and possibly even killing him.  Here's the thing...

If it went down the way Maino says it did, then he really did do lil dude a favor, because he shouldn't be talkin' slick anyhow.  I mean, it's not like MAINO was taping it or some sh*t.  From the interviews I have heard, they have been where the people have called HIM to confirm it.  It's not like Maino was like "I'm gonna be the sh*t in the hood" by slappin' fire out this niccah and get my name in the streets.  If anything, he risked his MONEY by smacking dude, because they are on tour together, and we all know Berg's songs get more radio play than Maino...

So, I can't even hate on Maino.  It's better to slap fire outta niccah and let him live another day than to just beat the sh*t outta him or even kill the lil dude.

And to the people who are sayin' Maino is wrong for smacking a "boy" and all...Yung Berg is a grown azz man.  He needs to make sure he picks his battles wisely...if you can't handle that "hand of G" as Maino likes to call it, then don't step to 'em sideways.  That goes to ANY dudes out there...don't talk slick and then get knocked out...

You  saw what happened to the Non Battle Rapping Battle Rapper who got put to sleep while talking ish on camera...

Or the girl who got caught slippin' when BP's "McDonald's Man" reared his ugly head...

If you can't back it up...please, don't say it....

Talk is cheap...

Not that I give a damn but Kmbo just got caught slippin, instead of worrying bout getting kicked he shoulda been payin more attention to those hands.....it was funny as hell to me tho!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok...real quick...gotta comment on these:)
First off...
People saying goodbye threads!  LMAO!  It's just a website folks...ya'll be really hooked to this sh*t!  oh, wait a minute...what would I do without the RUMORS section!?  Oh dayum...I feel ya'll pain:)
Second...
Kimbo lost, but I don't think he took an ass-whippin'.  Real talk, that was one of them "the sun shines on a dog's ass" type losses.  For real...we all know 99.9x out of a 100, that dude with pink hair wouldn't beat Kimbo.  Kimbo just caught the perfect shot thrown from nowhere. It was almost a fantom punch when you see it in slow motion.  And notice, even after he got on top of Kimbo and was punching him, with free reign, he didn't really land no crazy shots.  Kimbo was coming back to his senses, but the ref HAD to stop it, because he was taking those shots to the face.
I think if the ref would have waited about 5 more seconds, Kimbo would annihilated that dude...
With all that said, it really was some of the funniest sh*t I have seen!  Especially when Kimbo said "it's all good.  We gonna party at the (Ark or Art Bar?)" statement.  And he said Holla Atcha Boy.
Kimbo is a standup dude.  He knows you win some, you lose some, but you just keep it moving.  He ain't bout to sweat that ish...
Have ya'll read about his life story?  It's rough...I don't think him winning or losing is ever gonna affect this dude...because he's a testament to survival...homeless, living in cars and sh*t on the street...wild story...
I STILL haven't made it to buying any cd's over the weekend...but I wanted to know...
Real talk...
Have any of you bought that Solange CD?  Okay, have any of you heard it, played it, bootlegged it, etc?  I am tempted to buy it, because she has like 3 songs I have heard that I like...but I'm still not sure about buying a SOLANGE CD, ya dig?
Knowl, it's your fault I even thought of her...with your post about wishing she would work with them.  Her CD sounds like it has that 70's appeal tho...
Kimbo took an L...he's good.  I bet that dude who won with Pink hair don't want it AGAIN with Kimbo tho...he looked scared, caught a LUCKY punch, and happened to beat homey...
@tupacfan - I felt your pain lil momma.  I wrote something about it yesterday, but it was Johnny J who I think put Pac's voice out to the MASSES.  People knew who Pac was internationally from his role as Bishop in Juice.  His music was ALREADY hot, but his production was always hit or miss...
But Johnny J changed that...he made Pac's music MASTERFUL.  The right production with the right lyrics is pure FIYA!  Man...it's a shame his life ended like that. I still think someone else did that to homey.  All bad...RIP Johnny J...
Oh...real quick...
As much as many people don't like Soulja Boy...he's gettin' paid.  Same goes with what Lil Jon did.
I can't hate on them...I hate on the Clear Channels and BET's who aren't giving exposure to lyrical artists, or to other "lanes" of hip-hop.  Give me some politically conscious artists for the mainstream.  Give me some BDP, or Public Enemy, or even some WU Tang dayum it!
It's not Soulja Boy and Lil Jon's fault...they make the music they like and appreciate.  More power to them...
It's not 50's fault.  It's not Jay's fault.  I blame the people with power in hip-hop who aren't giving...nah, FORCING the people to get something else..
Where's an MC Lyte when you need one?
Man...I just want some diversity...that's all...
It was crazy in there last night... Somebody took over this girls account who used to post in the IC and was saying that the IC has 24 hours left before another 4chain attack then all hell broke loose. It was really funny though. People were making goodbye threads and stuff and people were scared to check their PM messages or click links lol. Everyone was questinging who was hasn't been taken over yet. Then somebody took over Heat Wave's account and was posting threats. I came back this morning and all of the threads and post relating to it were gone and everyone is keeping quite on it. We will see what happens 2nite. It might have been Choice or someone who knows how to hack playing pranks.
fuck all of this bullshit gossip....that nigga kimbo got rocked by a dude with pink hair in 14 seconds, he caught the business end of a 2 piece early. And no that was not kimbo taking a "fall" that was kimbo taking an ass whooping.
October 6, 2008 11:30 AM
-----------------------------------------------------
Not that I give a damn but Kmbo just got caught slippin, instead of worrying bout getting kicked he shoulda been payin more attention to those hands.....it was funny as hell to me tho!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ok...real quick...gotta comment on these:)

First off...

People saying goodbye threads!  LMAO!  It's just a website folks...ya'll be really hooked to this sh*t!  oh, wait a minute...what would I do without the RUMORS section!?  Oh dayum...I feel ya'll pain:)

Second...

Kimbo lost, but I don't think he took an ass-whippin'.  Real talk, that was one of them "the sun shines on a dog's ass" type losses.  For real...we all know 99.9x out of a 100, that dude with pink hair wouldn't beat Kimbo.  Kimbo just caught the perfect shot thrown from nowhere. It was almost a fantom punch when you see it in slow motion.  And notice, even after he got on top of Kimbo and was punching him, with free reign, he didn't really land no crazy shots.  Kimbo was coming back to his senses, but the ref HAD to stop it, because he was taking those shots to the face.

I think if the ref would have waited about 5 more seconds, Kimbo would annihilated that dude...

With all that said, it really was some of the funniest sh*t I have seen!  Especially when Kimbo said "it's all good.  We gonna party at the (Ark or Art Bar?)" statement.  And he said Holla Atcha Boy.

Kimbo is a standup dude.  He knows you win some, you lose some, but you just keep it moving.  He ain't bout to sweat that ish...

Have ya'll read about his life story?  It's rough...I don't think him winning or losing is ever gonna affect this dude...because he's a testament to survival...homeless, living in cars and sh*t on the street...wild story...

Thanks for posting the Zeitgast Addendum link.  I've been meaning to check it out for a while now, so I basically made myself watch it this time.  I've watched about half of it up to this point, but it really outlines one of the major statements I tell people all the time which is "Business Ethics is an Oxymoron".
If people would really analyze that phrase and begin doing their own research, the lies that have allowed for the manifestation of these unjust institutions would start falling like dominos.  I'm convinced that the average American is complacent with being a pawn and not listening to their intuition when events such as 911 occur.  Ask yourself, why does the rest of the world seem to hate America so much?  It's definitely not because they are jeolous of our freedoms.

I have heard 4 or so cuts off of it and it is Devin.  If you like him as an artist it seems like you will love this album.  He has some really noticeable features on there , like Snoop, Slim Thug, a Dre produced track which seems like a recipe for success.  I pre ordered that ish when I heard his first few tracks that got leaked.  I need something mellow like that to calm me down in this DC traffic...

i knew it was a bad sign when i was amped to listen queens get the money and then when that shit come on it's a weak piano sample from sean penn's I Am Sam movie.

and basically nas -- not flowing -- but doing spoken word over this accapella shit.

off beat as shit.

how did y'all neglect to mention that?

[oh wait before i continue. on the maino thing. see how they got you? he gettin notiriety for an altercation at a club. not his rhyme skills. see?]

but yo, back to this heartbreaking wack ass nas album.

i can see through ya head.
i know where you comin from.
i know what you fixin to, fitna or finna say.

"well shit. at least he was talking about something. not like all this other bullshit out here."

i dunno. i'm startin to worry.
see? i wanna say it's y'all.

i'm bout to start askin everybody what kinds of tennis (sneaker, kicks) or shoes y'all got on.

then that way i can asses your tastes.

because ain't no way you heard any dope hip hop in ya life (even from nas) and said this wack ass shit bangs.

stic.man from dead prez.

i got love for what y'all do on the activism side.
seriously.

but ya beats is wack.
i buy dpz albums outta support.

i even bought Revolutionary but gangsta twice.
outta support.

the money ain't nothing.

but the music y'all puttin out is wack.
it don't look right in my collection.

and you produced like 3 corny tracks on this album.

yo y'all like i was sayin, i thought it was y'all.
but when it's everybody else but you time and time again, then that means the issue is yourself.

so i gotta reexamine myself.

but that album was corny as shit.

on the beat side.
for a muvafucka to go out and claim hip hop is dead and then not have ONE SINGLE FUCKIN SCRATCH on this wack as album is corny.

but you know what? after hip hop is dead came out and i listend to that, i was like dude kinda corny nowadays.

and now i listen to this untitled album not only was all of that with the hip hop is dead shit nothing but game, shidddd he one of the main reasons why the shit is dead now anyway.

but movin right along.

so i know people be lookin for some counterbalancing product to contrast to the other shit that's out.

i can dig that.

but for music lovers and hip hop heads who wasn't listenin to that wack shit anyway?

this nas album is butt.

look how it break down.
the beats is all on some session musician shit.
so you got muvafuckas playin guitars and trumpets and shit on the album.

then you got the keyboard apple garage shit "to bump in the club" that's the little polow the don shit.

and then you got stic.man playin his keyboards and shit.

no name brand hip hop beats.
no large pro.
no pete rock.
no dj premier.

straight wack silly ass shit.

the flyest jawn on there which aint really that fly is the jawn that salaam remi hooked with the message from a black man sample by mickey and the soul generation.

but it don't stop.

cuz next you got the rhymes.

who the fuck told nas to go head and get tricky?

get so tricky that you don't hafta rhyme on beat no more?
this dude is a reflection of so many of the so called "real hip hoppers" who done fucked around and turned to some wierdo shit.

tale between their legs. the fake hip hop crushed them so they lost their identity.

this nigga --  ninja cain't even rhyme no more.

he ain't on the top ten list anymore.
AZ done eclipsed this confused ass fool.

everyone of the songs on this nas album is nas tryna kick his little shit but his flow is off beat.
so off beat that you can't even vibe with it.

listen don't you realize before you jump into your little agenda the beat and rhymes gotta be dope???????

he so anxious to try to kick knowledge that he ain't rhymin fresh. he ain't flowin to a dope beat.

this is the measuring stick by which you rate hip hop music.
the music.

1 is his rhymes dope?
2 are the beats ill?

3 ok, so what is he talkin about?

this shit is like what i would imagine a michael eric dyson album would sound like.

y'all gotta step y'all hip hop musical tastes up.
stop lettin them run the 52 fakeout on you from all directions.

and i wanna ask or show y'all something.
post the audio or a youtube from any song off that album.
i need to ask y'all a real question and i need a real honest answer.

I thought Testify was hot, he switched it up and dropped the spoken word ish over a hot beat, as far as the album in a whole, it was deep but went over the head of the average hip hop fan.  As a Nas fan, I listen to the message and how he puts it together.....

I don't have Youtube at the job but I will defenitley lace a classic 90's hip hop top 10.  All regions of the US are gonna love it...  Nice list though big brother, you kept it 100 with Jersey's finest....  Red was a beast.....

@NYReppin716to718
You right about that my dude, Red had all aspects of the game that made him a solid artist.  Dude was original, had real street credibility because he never claimed to be a gangster, and was creative as hell.  Who else could make a series of tracks about being SUPAMAN LOVA....  Muddy Waters was of course my favorite Red album.  When I get to the crib I'm doing a full fledge Reggie Noble Tribute.......1

that's foolish.

but i still wanna see something. let's post the audio of these songs.

they got us so fucked up in the head.
we don't even know the sound of our own music anymore.

hip hop ain't electronica
electronica ain't country
country ain't grunge
grunge ain't classic rock
rock ain't opera
opera ain't jazz
jazz ain't salsa
salsa ain't hip hop.

I watched this late last night:  Meet The Press with Tom Brokaw...

Paul Begala warns McCain of going negative: two can play at that game.

MR. BEGALA: Well, no. Obama was—he was asked about this in a debate in a primaries with Hillary Clinton sitting there; George Stephanopoulos of ABC asked him about it. He answered it. He pointed out that the despicable acts this guy committed were committed when, apparently, Barack Obama was eight years old. And, and I think Governor Palin here is making a strategic mistake. This guilt by association path is going to be trouble ultimately for the McCain campaign. You know, you can go back—I’ve written a book about McCain. I had a dozen researchers go through him. I didn’t even put this in the book. But John McCain sat on the board of a very right-wing organization. It was the U.S. Council for World Freedom. It was chaired by a guy named John Singlaub, who wound up involved in the Iran-Contra scandal. It was an ultraconservative right-wing group. The Anti-Defamation League, in 1981, when McCain was on the board, said this about this organization. It was affiliated with the World Anti-Communist League, the parent organization, which ADL said, “has increasingly become a gathering place, a forum, a point of contact for extremists, racists and Anti-Semites.” Now, that’s not John McCain. I don’t think he is that. But, but, you know, the problem is that a lot of people know John McCain’s record better than Governor Palin, and he does not want to play guilt by association or this thing could blow up in his face.

Yo...BP1 -

The reason I think you feel the album is butt is because you don't care for the production. Period.

I remember a while back you were talking about how you are a BEAT junkie first and foremost.  So, even if an artist's lyrics go hard, you could almost care less if the production is AZZ.  I'm almost the same way to be honest.  Probably why in the early 90's I became such a fan of Death Row, because Dre just killed you with dope beats. Same with Kanye....here's my take on Nas' album...

When it first dropped, it was refreshing, because I was guilty of pumping Lil Wayne's album constantly in my car, along with his mixtapes (which he didn't even promote...lol).

But then Nas finally dropped, and I was like "let me get my balance", because anyone who knows me knows I like balance.

Well, at first, Nas' album was refreshing...but then I realized I only really like about 4 or 5 of the cuts, which makes it NOT a classic.  Here are the ones I can vibe with...

You Can't Stop Us Now
Testify
N.I.*.*.E.R.
Untitled

4 outta 15 = not a classic.

And my main issue...PRODUCTION.

He could have really used better production on the album.  Take them 4, add better production, and I would probably like it a lil more.  That Fried Chicken is growing on me, but ultimately, that would only be 5/15, which is 33%, which is an F on a test...

I don't want to say the albums is ASS, because it has potential...with better production...

Nas needs him a Johnny J....

Okay I am off my soapbox and back with my own rumors:

Brandy calls Kim Kardashian a thief during an interview with Angie Martnez- ( I didn't even know she was still around), here's how the interview went down:

Angie: So what happened, [Kim K and her family] stole money from you guys?
Brandy: Yes
Angie: Unbelievable!! And you didn't find out about it until years later?
Brandy: Yeah. They were very close to our family. We never saw that coming because Kim and her family come from money, so you never would think that would happen. But it did, and hopefully it will get worked out [before it gets] in court ...

But I have love for Kim. I know who she is behind closed doors. She's a sweet girl, she just got a little thief problem!!!

.......lmao, damn those are some pretty harsh accusations, but I remember reading about this a while back, Kim Kardashian used their mother's credit card and went shopping and never gave them the money back.
Maybe Kim figured they didn't need the money after her son made millions off the bootleg porno they did together?!? Just my thoughts, moving right along....

I heard model/actress Vida Guerra will be replacing Aubrey O'Day from Danity Kane...my only concern is that this chic can't sing, but I guess she can't do any worse huh?!? lmao...lemme stop.

I shall return with more!

But I can't say his image is dead.  His "Bidness" song or whatever gets more spin than Maino's Hi Hater everywhere I go with the exception of maybe NY (and I'm just guessing on that one).  That bidness song be on in ALL the clubs...and I would venture he gets more spins on the radio too?

I dunno...I hate to say it (i'm not a Berg fan), but I think this cat is still gettin' money, even AFTER he got slapped.

Yall remember Allen Payne played Tristen in Blue Hill Avenue, lol, I was like, "hell yea them Tristine's go hard),lmao....anyways, I've come accross names worse than that @ my job Kappagem, try pronouncing this one:

@K. Bean - I cosign you to the fullest lil mama...

it's about to get REAL UGLY before it gets good in this economy...

For all my people on here...

The worst is YET to come.

Wait until the spring time rolls around, and people who got their income taxes think they can just go get a new vehicle…

or maybe a school loan?

Wait til people who’s children are in private schools right now find out they can’t get the money to keep their children in those schools.  Or the kids who are in public schools who will have to transfer and go to a whole different school because the school they are in are closing due to “lack of funds”…

but back to what I was talking about…

That $700 BILLION bailout was nothing more than a way to “ease” the fear of the economy, and allow the government to profit big time off the mistakes of the consumers who bought these crazy homes with basically no money.  It was an opportunity take advantage of the Fannie Mae’s and Freddie Mac’s, who lent too much money to people who couldn’t afford the inflation rates they KNEW were gonna come, but they assumed their salary and “plot in life” would have increased as well.  Well, now the govt. owns it, and they are gonna take those foreclosed homes, sell them for a higher rate, make the difference, and the people who were foreclosed on ain’t getting’ a dayum thing.  The bailout is not doing anything for home owners, and they are still coming for their money (more if you own a home once the % increases due to the number of people who didn’t live up to their loanJ)….

It's disturbing yo...

Average annual raise is only about 2.5 – 3% annually.  That means it would take, ON AVERAGE, about 5-6 years for the average American to see a 15% inflation of their salary…but inflation in America is going up rapidly.  We are already almost hitting 4% annually (which means while you HOPE you get that 2.5% raise, you WILL get that 4% hike of inflation), and it might hit 6% at the rate our economy is going…

It’s SOOOO ugly folks.  All I can say is this…

I’m starting to get a lot wiser with my money.

I wanna get this extra $$$ on the side first…but be weary of what’s to come my people…be weary.  It’s gonna get WORSE before it gets better…

And I don't think he should have lead with that Kheri cut (was it Breathe?).  I didn't like that sh*t, nor did I like the cut with C. Brown.  I thought those were awful...

But I thought with better production it could have been at least "okay"...

I do agree, though, he needs to take his time with his albums...they do be better based on him taking time.

And I feel Stillmatic was something he did right when he got his swag back, so it didn't surprise me...

His career is definitely more up and down than your favorite mc:)

anyway just curious, who you got on top of your list?

but yo, you said you was gon start askin niggas about they kicks... fuck it lets do it. every body throw out what kinda kicks they got.

i got about 17 pair of assorted nikes. airforces and airmax mostly. couple pairs of basketball shoes for when i ball (uptempos only, no jordans). 4 pairs of reebok classics. some chucks (you know the deal) and then two sets of shelltoe adidas (black and white). keep em rotatin and so they stay fresh longer and replace when necessary.

i dont get too colorful with mines. i dress too simple for that shit. mostly whites and cool greys with some layers of color. i like my shit to look clean. too much color take away from that.

i got one pair of stacy's i bust out with the one 3 piece suit i got for special occasions (job interview, court date, funeral, easter and christmas services). black, dark burgandy and white. they smoove as hell.

ive worn some timbs and i be seein some that look cool but when it come down to buyin i aint ever owned a pair. they make me feel heavy and sluggish.

They do do their own things but they'll always work together, hopefully... N.E.R.D. has been on tour all year i'm sure Chad is just back with his family

Cops attack Black activists
at Harlem parade

Published Oct 4, 2008 10:09 PM

The Harlem Day parade, held annually in the predominately African-American community in New York City, was once again the scene of an unprovoked attack by the police.

The victims this Sept. 21 were members of the New Black Panther Party who were marching in a contingent in their name when the attack happened.

Five NBPP members were physically assaulted, arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and assaulting a police officer.

The five members have become known as the Harlem Five. Two of them were scheduled to appear in a Manhattan court on Sept. 26. A community meeting about the case was held at the National Black Theater in Harlem on Sept. 28.

Their supporters have asked any spectators who were eyewitnesses to the attack to call 917-420-8662 to help assist with the legal defense of the NBPP members.

A NBPP press release characterized the incident as “a reckless and outrageous expression of police abuse.” This incident, captured on Youtube, clearly shows a police riot. (www.tinyurl.com/4eyd9x)

The Harlem Day parade has a tradition of bringing out thousands in the Black community and their supporters, along with an overwhelming, disproportionately large number of police, whose presence reflects an occupying, intimidating force.

*Basher Hameed was instrumental in putting the Black Panther Party on the map in New Jersey. A son of Linden, NJ, he travelled up and down the state seeking recruits and developing chapters and squads. He was deputy chair for the Jersey City chapter. His work and commitment put him in the crosshairs of the COINTELPRO attacks against the Black Liberation Movement as did many. It forced him to go underground for years. In 1981, he was captured and charged, along with another Panther comrade, Abdul Majid, with the killing of a Queens police officer. Hence they became known as ‘The Queens 2.’ It took three trials to secure a conviction of these warriors who each given 25 years to life…Basher passed on August 30th from pancreatic cancer while wrongly being incarcerated for well over 20 years. Abdul Majid is still in a NY state prison…

State celebrates 100th anniversary of Allensworth

Email Picture
Wally Skalij / Los Angeles Times

Though it lasted for less than a decade, Allensworth boasted a hotel, a school, a library, a church and a general store. “The state gave them one teacher and they actually taxed themselves so they could have two,” said Josephine Blodgett Smith, 94.

Lt. Col. Allen Allensworth and other former slaves turned a desert wasteland into a thriving pioneer town, making a strong statement about black self-determination in an era of rampant discrimination.

By Steve Chawkins, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
October 6, 2008

In 1908, Lt. Col. Allen Allensworth, a charismatic ex-slave and retired military man, set out to build an all-black community on a hardscrabble patch of land 40 miles north of Bakersfield.

This weekend, the centennial of his long-shuttered town will be honored by thousands of Californians trooping to the site, now known as Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park.

Though it thrived for less than a decade, the town strikes a special chord among many, who see it as a pioneering effort in black self-determination.

"That group in the first 50 years after emancipation was probably the most dynamic group we've had," said Rick Moss, chief curator of the African American Library & Museum at Oakland. "Allensworth is a real testimony to their drive, their dignity, their willpower -- it's all right there."

Moss is among the speakers at the two-day celebration. So is Lonnie G. Bunch III, founding director of the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History. The Crenshaw High School Elite Choir and actor William Allen Young will be among the entertainers making appearances.

Amtrak is establishing special bus and train routes to the park from Los Angeles, Inglewood, Sacramento, Oakland and elsewhere. (Details are available at www.parks.ca.gov/). About 5,000 visitors are expected -- far more than the couple of hundred residents who lived in Allensworth at its height

Self-proclaimed "BOSS" rapper Rick Ross finally admitted he once held down a gig as a correctional officer. After being questioned numerous times, and adamantly denying it, many were still convinced otherwise.

Ross sat down with Don Diva and explained himself. He was shown a picture of the CO photo and was asked if that was him or not.

"Yes. It's me. I never tried to hide my past. I put my name inside my cds. My company has my SS#. I could've put a company name... I done been up and I done been down and that's what makes me what I am. I never ratted on a nigga. I never prosecuted a nigga. I never locked up a nigga, that's first and foremost. I always felt that me being the nigga that I am, I never owed a nigga an explanation... When I'm making my music and I'm talking about blow, it's because I did it. When I say that I'm rich off cocaine, it's because i did it. Those are the street principals that apply."

Bruce Springsteen

From the Stage at the Vote For Change Rally in Philadelphia

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bruce-springsteen/from-the-stage-at-the-vot_b_131966.html

The following are my comments from the stage atyesterday's Vote For Change rally in Philadelphia: Hello Philly, I am glad to be here today for this voter registrationdrive and for Barack Obama, the next president of theUnited States. I've spent 35 years writing about America, its people,and the meaning of the American Promise. The Promisethat was handed down to us, right here in this cityfrom our founding fathers, with one instruction: Doyour best to make these things real: opportunity,equality, social and economic justice, a fair shake forall of our citizens, the American idea, as a positiveinfluence, around the world for a more just andpeaceful existence. These are the things that give ourlives hope, shape, and meaning. They are the ties thatbind us together and give us faith in our contract withone another. I've spent most of my creative life measuring thedistance between that American promise and Americanreality. For many Americans, who are today losing theirjobs, their homes, seeing their retirement fundsdisappear, who have no healthcare, or who have beenabandoned in our inner cities, the distance betweenthat promise and that reality has never been greater ormore painful. I believe Senator Obama has taken the measure of thatdistance in his own life and in his work. I believe heunderstands, in his heart, the cost of that distance,in blood and suffering, in the lives of everydayAmericans. I believe as president, he would work torestore that promise to so many of our fellow citizenswho have justifiably lost faith in its meaning. Afterthe disastrous administration of the past 8 years, weneed someone to lead us in an American reclamationproject. In my job, I travel the world, andoccasionally play big stadiums, just like SenatorObama. I've continued to find, wherever I go, Americaremains a repository of people's hopes, possibilities,and desires, and that despite the terrible erosion toour standing around the world, accomplished by ourrecent administration, we remain, for many, a house ofdreams. One thousand George Bushes and one thousandDick Cheneys will never be able to tear that housedown. They will, however, be leaving office, dropping thenational tragedies of Katrina, Iraq, and our financialcrisis in our laps. Our sacred house of dreams has beenabused, looted, and left in a terrible state ofdisrepair. It needs care; it needs saving, it needsdefending against those who would sell it down theriver for power or a quick buck. It needs strong arms,hearts, and minds. It needs someone with SenatorObama's understanding, temperateness, deliberativeness,maturity, compassion, toughness, and faith, to help usrebuild our house once again. But most importantly, it needs us. You and me. To build that house with the generosity that is at the heart of the American spirit.  A house that is truer and big enough to contain the hopes and dreams of all of our fellow citizens. That is where our future lies. We will rise or fall as a peopleby our ability to accomplish this task. Now I don't know about you, but I want that dream back, I want my America back, I want my country back. So now is the time to stand with Barack Obama and Joe Biden, roll up our sleeves, and come on up for therising.
