As major as an influence he had on the 'culture', there are alot of people who dont list him among their top 5. Alot of 'lyricist' I talk to, say he was a mediocre lyricist. He just had a powerful message to convey. Each person has their own opinion. Despite their untimely deaths, neither he nor B.I.G. are in my personal top 5; but thats me. I guess it all boils down to the specific person and what each rapper meant to them personally.
