Chec it/google it/look it up, whatever..but how many collabs did 2pac have on All Eyez On Me or Strictly For My NIGGAZ for that matter. Didn't Hov use allotta outside sources to make Blueprint 2 and In My Lifetime and Volume 3?

Oh..and I Raekwon's Only Built For Cuban Linx should prob. be considered a group album as well, since 80% of the tracks feature the Wu?

What a biased review which is clear to see. There was no mention of the track with Ice Cube which is one of the bangers on the album. At least the Album is far better than most albums out there. I bet the reviewer gave TOS more ratings.

Game is doing his thing and has his way of rapping which i give him propz for. He does name droping but its his way of paying his respect and shows he knows about the history of rap.

This album was pretty good I must agree it was way better than Dr.Advocate, and not up there with Documentary. It was better than 50 cent trash ass album I like the fact that he had guest artist because nowadays most of the these are boring as hell no real subject matter even Jay-Z shit is boring its like i am buying CDs to just hear the music production. Having other artist mean that The Game did not have to write as much.

i totally agree with the review game lyrically was on point for the most case although the constant jabs and metaphors using jay,50,dre,superhead,suge and eazy e is old now since he has done it so much in his last projects.

but the production was lackluster and incohesive. it felt like all the producers gave him they throw aways....

8/10. Dope album, but not a classic.

"Game's Pain", "Let Us Live" & "Letter to the King" are the highlights of the album.

He stepped up his lyrical game but the features made the album too R&B. Some of the collabos sounded more right for Snoop than Game.

Sounds like he got T.I. & Jeezy beat, but Hova is cooking up BP3 for the 4th quarter.

LAX as many of you may have seen in a few of my post was one of only 4 albums i was left anticipating (Blueprint 3, Detox and Live, Suffer, Celebrate are the only ones now). I dig the game, but I think his two previous albums where classic and Doctors Advocate is hot too for all you haters out there.. you must not have heard the whole thing if you think its wack or must be a 50 cent meat jocker... but anywho..

LAX is a good project but I must say I expected better production. Too many tracks that just werent grabbing me and I am a fan of The Games music. Lyrically tho shits on point and I think he stepped up a lil bit but no song on there that made me actually feel Games Pain... on previous albums, he really had some real raw emotion shit, he didnt really do that with this one, but its still a good overall album. I honestly did expect a tad bit more tho.

My personal highlights are

Bulletproof Diaires (Sorry AHH this track is FIRE, yall are hating on this one)

Dope Boyz (Rock/rap banger!)

Let Us Live (Nice melodic track here, Nas-influenced delivery, production and lyrics)

House Of Pain (Raw, ugly, gutter music)

My Life (This track is cool, its still growing on me honestly)

Ya Heard (Luda murked this)

Cali Sunshine (Nice chill, but gangster summer time, smoke a blunt and relax music!)

So all in all I support The Game's LAX album and will be looking forward to more from him in the future especially if he does a new-age NWA project that he was talking about!! Cube, Snoop, Dre and Ren HOLLA!

The reviews the reviews man dang !!! 6.5 ??? who are u lying to Ill seed or whatever ur name is ? I'm game's number one fan but i would at least give it a 7.5 but the album is a solid B or high B (8 or 8.5 ) The hits on this album are nice and the guest appearances don't hurt as bad as everyone makes it out to be !!! Only people who aren't Game fans, which are the most critical people!! who just mess up hip hop more by doing that. The documentary, The doctors advocate has the same amount of guest appearances or maybe more but the appearances are mostly hooks though, its not like the one blood remix with everyone and they momma on it LOL

I would have to say on "ya heard" I would of wanted Game to change his verse around because he said "I'm not convinced weezy and jay the best" I would expected krazy lyrics for that song but Ludacris comes in and murders it. Game is very "Versatile" he adapts easily so this album has a different style kind of a little more smooth than usual. Check out "angel"

We all know Game always comes out with the hard hitting beats every time, that's never a doubt.There's not much need for Dre.Speaking of that man Dre he has officially left the west coast he is strait East coast no Game no Snoop what does that sound like to you ?? So its not just Game!! so Detox will never make it if Dre doesn't return to his roots, I'm calling that out first, think about that ? Dre is still a beast though!

The R&B is aight might be to thuggish for the ladies kinda like that 2pac Thug N U Thug N Me Remix remember that ??

This album does have a short message with Nas and towards the end of the album, its kind of different but its still excellent.

At the end of the day with a few rappers calling them self the weather man, The Game has to be the "True Weather Man" because no matter how good the weather is people will always complain!!!" hated on so much Passion Christ need a sequel " How true is that ? The documentary, The doctors advocate has the same amount of guest appearances or maybe more but the appearances are mostly hooks though, its not like the one blood remix with everyone and they momma on it LOL

I would have to say on "ya heard" I would of wanted Game to change his verse around because he said "I'm not convinced kanye and weezy the best" I would expected krazy lyrics for that song but Ludacris comes in and murders it. Game is very "Versatile" he adapts easily so this album has a different style kind of a little more smooth than usual. Check out "angel"

We all know Game always comes out with the hard hitting beats every time, that's never a doubt.There's not much need for Dre.Speaking of that man Dre he has officially left the west coast he is strait East coast no Game no Snoop what does that sound like to you ?? This album does have a short message with Nas and towards the end of the album, its kind of different but its still excellent.

Copped & absorbed "LAX" last nite..... its actually pretty damn good, not a classic like "Documentary" or a surprise jab like "Doc's Advocate" but it mos def get the job done....

As for the collabo issue, he only has 4 actual collabos/duets/etc... Raekwon, Common, Nas & Luda are the only 1's trading verses w/Game. Evrybody else (Ice Cube, Lil Wayne, Ne-Yo, Keyshia Cole, etc...) are just on the hook/chorus.

Kinda digging how he upgraded his flow.... esp since on the first 2 releases, every 5th word outta his mouth used to be either "Doctor" or "Dre".... or sum variation of the 2. "Game's Pain" is prolly the only joint w/the obligitory name-dropping.

So far "Angel" w/Common, "Bulletproof Diaries" w/Raekwon & "Never Can Say Goodbye" on the cool list.

Sum folks may like it more, sum gonna hate it all together... but that's the cool thing about music.

I think most of these colabs are made up to sell the album. Just because someone that is hot right now is on the track don't make the song hot, at least not to me. My whole thing is why don't the artist just cut down the number of tracks, like from 21 to 12 and be the main focus.

^^^That last joint is an ode to Pac and Biggie but Game is rapping and telling the story from their perspective. It's creative as hell. He mimics their voices and all. It's dope!!

That Letter To The King joint is a dedication to Coretta and Markin Luther King. It's featuring NaS. It's fiya, nuff said!!!

He showed tremendous lyrical growth on this album. I think it's the best out off all three. It's actually the only one out of his collection I feel I'll hit the store and spend dough on.

This album is HIGHLY underrated thus far!

Don't let these critics ruin it for you!

Oh and "MY LIFE" should have been his first single, that Keyshia Cole joint is weak!

I copped it yesterday... one of the few artists that I'll actually spend my money on, especially when I could get it for free. It's solid... about equal to the last one... some great songs, some blah. It's not so much the features that hurt it, it's the r&b ones. He could've done without the softer R&B songs. 4 of the first 5 songs and 3 out of the last 4 songs are crazy though. Dope Boys, Money & My Life are three of the better songs I've heard this year.

I heard it last night. I pretty much agree with this review. The features hurt Game more in my eyes than they did help. Common, Raekwon, Nas, Ludacris, they all seemed to HEAVILY outshine Game with their verses.

I started getting irritated with all the vocal parts. Ne-Yo did the damn thang doh! There was overall just too much singing for me.

The bonus disc...damn...ALL of those should've made it to the album. Makes you wonder what tracks he had to hold back...but nevertheless, that bonus disc was on POINT!

To me, was much better than The Doctor's Advocate, and a pretty decent album.

but yes, i do agree with AHH, the production on this album was AWFUL. I think someone here said the beats might have been throw aways, and that might have been true.

So all in all i do agree with the star rating of 7 and 1/2, lyrically this maybe his best album, but Game needs to get someone with a more creative "professional" feel to EXECUTIVE produce the album form start to finish. The DMX intros alone started me on the wrong note when listning.

This has to be the WORST review I've ever read. Why all the attention on the guest spots when some of the greatest albums of all time have TONS of appearences??? Most of the guests on LAX are on the hook let's keep that in mind... Just looked back at both Chronic albums and All Eyez on Me to see if all of you out there have a point, I thought maybe I was trippin. But then I see that Dre had 10+ guests on both albums while Pac had like 20 on his shit. The result for those artists= CLASSIC...

Is it that there just wasn't near the amount of hate in rap then that there is now? Is it that The Game simply is disliked that much by every one other than one of his fans specifically? I can see how AHH is playin him with this ABSURD rating of 6.5 and that BULLSHIT ass "anonymous" letter that they put up referencing Game and Bow Wow. Nice journalism AHH that was a real stand up job. Way to print some straight BS like that while maintaining that you "like" The Game and Bow Wow. Try not to just be straight rumors and take your journalistic responsibilities a bit more seriously.

I am a fan of The Game and am not disappointed by this album at all. I feel his lyrics are growing and the the variety of style and beats is something I can't get enough of right now. I'm not upset/annoyed that Chrisette Michelle, Raheem Davaughn, Bilal, Latoya Williams, Travis Barker, Lil Wayne, Ice Cube are all adding to the song while The Game remains the focus and is spittin ALL of the verses. If you don't see this as 8 stars or better than then tell me why? I need to keep listening for my own rating (I'm thinking 9/10) but right off the top of my head I can say this for sure, the following tracks are ALL legit...

I've gotta say this album isn't what I was expecting, however, his lyrics and flow have developed and I actually like some of the collabos. Not sure about the Raekwon track and i think some of the songs were over-produced (if that's possible).

It's definitely a grower as I was concerned that I'd thrown away my money away on this after the first listen (I love it now).

For all you game haters, this shit is 100 times better than any shit 50 and G Unit have managed since their early days.

i downloaded this album like 2 weeks ago, its not all dat, its the same, more name dropping. he only talks about 50 cent, dr dre etc..thats not lyrical.

The best song is the one with nas, the one with cube and one with luda(and luda had the best verse) and Angel ft common.

I'm surprise there isn't a track with him crying and drinking like the previous albums.

Also, I loved the Bullet Proof Diaries beat. That bassline is heavy.

As for the features... Com, Rae, Nas and Luda are the only one's that rapped. Cube and Wayne just did hooks. The rest sang.... I don't see a problem with that.

A 6.5??? I had to check that three fucking times to believe it. Sure the album isn't a 10 but it's definitely a 9. Doctor's Advocate is still my fav but this album might bump it out the spot. I definitely love Documentary but I felt that it had a few lackluster tracks. In a lot of ways I feel it only gets the recognition it does because The Game finally got Dre to get off his ass for some one other then the great Eminem. This album does have some different flava no question... Gentleman's Affair, Never Can Say Goodbye, Game's Pain, Cali Sunshine, Touchdown, Let Us Live, and Camera Phone (for those of you who copped the Deluxe edition) all have RNB artists on em... but so what. They supply the hooks and supply them well.

To say that Game's Pain is not memorable is to forget one of the most important tracks that got this project rolling. Touchdown is a sick track, and Never Can Say Goodbye is fucking ridiculous... let me repeat FUCKING RIDICULOUS!!! The infinite concepts behind it boggle the mind. Bulletproof Diaries brings Rae outta his supposed slump delivery some of the best slang bars I've heard from son in a minute. Sure Common slumps on Angel, but Game don't at all... and everybody thought Wouldn't Get Far wasn't that hot at first... but it's classic now... give an album more than one listen folk.

State of Emergency is a fuckin WestCoast Anthem, and Cali Sunshine brings that needed WC funk. Ludacris is murderous on Ya Heard, and Letter to the King... fuckin forget about it. Four album cuts in a row and I'm thinking Nas and the Game need to make a new Firm already.

Game's Solo tracks: LAX Files, House Of Pain, Money, Nice, Big Dreams, and Spanglish are all good. Fuck I ain't goin into anymore details... The album is straight fire!!! This review is what it is... and opinion. Read his, read mine... don't matter.... MAKE YOUR OWN!!!

Coo album...I say 7/10...there are some great songs on here Games Pain Money My Life and Never Can Say Goodbye. Let Us Live is nice but he takes the form of Nas. I know he admits it in the first verse but I'm in between if thats a tribute or inability to do him on that beat. Game is good for hip hop. He has a knack for connecting the past with the present through his beat choices and it makes for quality hip hop that is hard to find now days. His music will stand the test of time because of it. This album is a solid XL or 3.5 to 4 Mike effort. It lacks a memorable banger and the R&B is mediocre. Def coppin. I got that new Jeezy....Anthems are CRAZY!

This is my first time commenting on anything for Allhiphop.com. I have read many reviews and finally decided to join. I am from Oakland and Inglewood California, and I actually think Game's ablity to have music almost anyone can listen to is something the hip hop game has been missing. The Game and Ice Cube are the only "mainstream" artist in the west right now that are holding their own. There is no artsit that can make you understand a city that you have never been to better than the game. I have been raised in California and there is no artist I would rather have represent us than the Game. L.A.X. is a classic album. It has an assortment of music. Even though the only knock on the album is that he had too many artist on his songs. But most of the only artist ar there for hooks. I admit that The Documentary is the best of his work, but this album does not fall far behind. I hope The Game stays in hip hop, we really need him, but I understand his reasoning not to

I really dont think that guest appearances don't really matter when an artist believes that he's put out a quality piece of work. Were we complaining about any of Dr.Dre's Albums when both were pretty much "compilation albums" (of the combined 38 tracks from "The Chronic and "2001", he did one song by himself.) So. collabos shouldn't matter. And for all the people that just tear Game name down just for the hell of it, you get out there and sell in a market dominated by LimeWire and iTunes and still be relevant.As so Much for the album, I copped it, and I thought it was an alright album. It could comfort some hardcore Game fans for his "last" album and it can bring new casual fans in as well with the collabos of current artists and some hip-hop legends. In my opinion, I'd give it a 7.5/10. Not as polished as "Tha documentary" but an upgrade from "Doctor's Advocate".

another dope album by game, the biggest thing i noticed is it has a postive feel, game seems happy. I think when he did doctors advocate there was alot of negative shit goen on with him. i wouldnt call it best of the 3, for me it goes Doctors Advocate, the Doc and LAX, but three classic albums, all worth buying. my fav tracks would be LAX Files(first verse is sick) Angel(nice chilax beat kanye) and of course the banger DOPE BOYS. and as always game lyricaly was on point, loved it when he used Biggies flow on Never Can Say Goodbye

I agree with GameTime33409. LAX is a bangin album. Lil Weezy is getting played the F out. Sick of his whining on the tracks. Most over rated rapper out right now.

I paid $14 for LAX yesterday and got my $$$'s worth. Its the first rap album I bought since Dr's Advocate. Besides him and Jay all the rest of these other rappers albums get bootlegged. I got at least 500 rap albums and counting through free downloading. Only favorites get my $$$ other than that Im gettin yo shit free. Next albums I'll pay for is Meth and Red and Jada.

In my opinion "Dopeboys" and "My Life" are pretty good tracks in order to promote the album. Now the best way to be sure is to listen the whole thing.

Look like there are way too many guests on the album though.

Game definitely put out a great album, but in honestly he didn't break any new ground which is what I think the journalists who review albums were looking for.

He is one of this decades only artists who doesn't deviate from a blueprint that he has established yet he needed to broaden the subject matter. Guest spots are fine, but you have to be able to utilize them right and make sure there isn't too many of them.

I still thought it was the best album of the year along with Raw Footage but he didn't give us anything we haven't already heard on The Documentary or The Doctors Advocate besides way too many guest spots.

If Game would have put out an album with more of him he wouldn't be able to say Ice Cube, Common, Nas, or Raekwon were on the album but the fans would have got more of what we wanted to hear; him.

I think we're hearing a West Coast renaissance, yall. Raw Footage, then LAX?!? Cube cleared the way for the lil' homey. I'm feeling both...both bangin', and both a good listen. I wouldn't go as far as to call either of them classics, but considering the state of things in the market right now, they are good albums. That State of Emergency sound like a call to arms for the West. There are some swipes taken at Dre & 50. I'm not a big fan of The GAME, but I can't deny his abilities as an MC anymore. Jay takes some to the face as well THRUOUT the album. I don't know that he'll respond tho, but he listens to shit; he'll hear them. Support HIP-HOP....get that LAX & that Raw Footage.

Game's L.A.X. is far from a 6.5 it's more of a 8 but it's a step back from The Doctors Advocate, i'm pass the name dropping because that's his style it's not a problem neither is the guest appearances most of them are on the hook anyway but thing that's keeps this album from being just as good as TDA or TD is the unreleased tracks which are very strong(Superman,Hard Liquor Produced By Dr.Dre,& Big Dreams being on the actual Cd not on the bonus) to replace The Intro & Outro,House Of Pain,Touch Down change the order of the tracks

I aint gonna lie, I haven't heard it. A couple of the songs I did hear I thought was cool. I aint feelin him as a person and the way he conducts his shit.. For me to like a artist, I gotta respect the way he conducts himself. And the Game, with out anybody's assistance, has done things and said things to the media, about his own personal thoughts and they way he conducts himself. These things make me qustion the validitly of him as a person. To like a rapper you gotta be able to respect his views and if he constantly conradicts himself and flat out does shit thats fake, how can you listen to his music?!!? Rap is not singing, rap is a wordplay of your interpretation of your life, the world around you and the people you come into contact with. Its shit I dont like from any of these rappers (Jay-Z, 50, Ross, etc- the list goes on and on), it just so happens the Game not only contadicts himself in his actions like the rappers I mentioned, he says it in interview after interview like Ross. I sorry if Im hating, but I cant be handed frog leggs and be told that is chicken.

This rap game is in such of a state of emergency its sad.. look how much money is spent on chains, diamonds, and cars, but nothing gets done in the form of reforms their schools or neighborhoods. Puttin up a basketball court doesnt count. I can do that shit myself. And with all of these diamonds being purchaced, they are funding the slavery of people from their own race over in other countries.

The Game reminds me of niggas that we grew up with who didn't get that real respect cuzz he would constantly stab people in the back in order to make friends with somebody else. Those niggas didnt get invited to the parties or all the b.b.q.'s cuzz nobody wanted them niggas around. Lets just see how long the Game makes and keeps friends with others in the industry. If Im wrong then, fuck it,,, who am I anyway. Im just a nigga wit an opinion about shit. Niggas that were real and had real niggas around them know what Im takin about.

Don't misinterpret my criticizm 4 hating & I ain't dissin no1's region but....His 1st cd was a classic & there r a few songs on this disc that r hot ya heard me but on some real shit though,Game can't go 1 song wit out name droppin.Every single song....The Doc this....Nwa that....blah blah 50....64's....Kanye....& the list goes on & on until he eventually attempts 2 name drop everybody famous & runs out of album space & the question I ask supprisingly is not y...but who wants 2 hear an entire album of that????Seriously on every song he name drops.I'm not knockin him 4 promo or nothin like that cuz either curiosity will hit u & u'll click my name 2 listen 2 my shit or u won't.Just givin my 2cents & wonderin if anybody else caught on 2 his consistent name droppin or was I the only 1.He's a talented artist but he could do a whole lot better & do less name droppin.

Rating: 3/5 Blunts

Let me start by saying I don't know when Game became one of the elite lyricists in the game but he definitely improved on his lyrics on L.A.X. I don't pick up a c.d. by The Game and expect the illest verses ever but even with that said, you have to respect his efforts & ultimately, his lyrical upgrade. Even with Game reaching a new level with his talents, he is still going crazy with the name-dropping. I like to hear a rapper speak on his individual self, and not in constant comparison to other rappers in the game. If he didn't name-drop so much, I think The Game would get alot more respect from the true hip-hop heads for his. He could've left a few of the more "lady tracks" off the album and replaced them with the cuts on the his bonus disc; it would've served for a better feel to the L.A.X. album. Still and all, The Game delivers. The track listing could've been arranged better; the flow of the album throws me off the vibe I'm trying to get off the album at some points. L.A.X. is poppin', though.

For all who thought that game CD was a so called **classic** must be from California. One thing we have to remember hip-hop fans is Cali has been missing from the map and if it wasn't for Snoop or HollyWood then we would consider Cali a state for hip hop. The LAX album will probably seel more than Dr. Advocate because people continue to purchase his albums to see how many name drops he going to call out or is he going to dis 50 and continue to dig himself in a hole. You cannot dis the 2 biggest names in Hip Hop (50 & Jay-Z) and expect to due big Domestic Numbers. Game needs to watch his mouth and quit saying shit about people and taking it back (Apologetically). Damn, dudes are straight sheep and this review is lame.

To me the album is 8.5 out of ten. I'm from California and he was speaking to me no homo. The track with Bilal is off the chain, Money is the best track on the album. The track with cube goes hard, Rae and him on the same track was different but the pulled it off. I do agree that him and Common shouldn't have done anything but other than that it was a good album.

Lyrically Game brought it and yes, I too get tired of the name dropping he still brought heat. And Doctor's Advocate was fire..fuck what you lame dudes are talking about.
