The Joker: I don't want to kill you! What would I do without you? Go back to ripping off mob dealers? No, no, NO! No. You... you... complete me.

50 Cent has just released a new “street album” called War Angel for the downloading delight of his fans, haters and the curious bystander.

All eyes are on 50 right now.

It truly appears to be make it or break it time for the rap mogul, who appears to have sustained some collateral damage in the kinda-sorta battle with Miami’s Rick Ross. Based on the marketing behind War Angel, one gets the impression that 50 Cent has reloaded and is ready to shoot up the competition.

“I Line N***ad,” the first song, proves 50 Cent isn’t really playing and, in fact, is working really hard to re-establish his lyrical presence. The song is standard hardcore street-hop that is appealing to aficionados. Similarly, “Talking In Codes” and “Redrum (Murder)” are short, terse songs that will satisfy advocates of samples and boom bap music. Lyrically, 50 sounds hungry and the ad libs on several songs are even equipped with animalistic growls. “You are now under my hypnosis / Summer Time grind, come out with the toasters / I return like an animal ferocious / New money breed new enemies, n***a you know this,” 50 barks on “C.R.E.A.M. 2009.”

There are no production credits, but whoever helped paint the sonic backdrop had a great set of brushes. It truly feels good to hear abrasive Hip-Hop in an emerging era of colorful hipsters. There are moments when you hear 50 trying a bit too hard still it’s easy to forget this rapper is a multimillionaire that rolls tight with Bette Midler.

With a street album called War Angel, this reviewer could have done without “I’ll Do Anything,” “London Girl,” and “Cocaine,” all which deviate from the theme of angst and hostility. Certainly, there is a place for such songs on a commerical album so the ladies and other proponents of smoother sounds will likely appreciate them.

And for The Joker? When it comes to quality of his music, it almost seems that 50 Cent’s best work is indelibly linked to Ja Rule – his mortal enemy. The hatred 50 had for Ja, brought out the best in the G-Unit General. But, he opted to kill Ja’s career instead of letting him linger. Same with Rick Ross.  Rick Ross has continued to diss 50 Cent, but 50 never lashes back at Ross. War Angel is more than sufficient, however it falls short of picking off where Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ left off. However unfair that may be, it is what it is.

With other mixtapes on the way, War Angel is a good indication that 50 Cent will be 100-percent by the time Before I Self Destruct comes out.

y does everyone expect fif to do another GRODT, jay-z never did another reasonable doudt, nas never did another illmatic nor has ja rule ever done another venni veddi vecci...ya'll dont kno wat ya'll want from fif when he does harcore ya'll complaint he raps about da same stuff when he raps about other stuff ya'll call him pop/sell-out either way fif loses in da eyes of da haters...fif never change his always been homonizing in his shit(after my cheddar, many men, guess whose back) he has always recycle da same vocabulary and most the content he raps about is da same all he ever does is change his delivery and his beats. dats it...

its just alot of niggas waz on his dick because of da crazy hype he had back in 02-03. ya'll dont realize half da people who buys rap albums dont buy it because they like rap but because they want to be hip and want people to think they r cool cause they r listening to wats new. once fif did not have dat new rappers appeal dats when da hate started a lot of people fucked wit fif back in 02-05 not because they actually like his music or knew wat he was about they simply liked him because he was da hottest thing out  but if u knew who fif was since 1999 or was a real 50 cent fan da only thing you have to be disappointed about was da curtis album and even then dat shit was not bad it just waz not up to fif's standards in conclusion real fans of 50 cent and rap will not say fif change they will say how da fuck this nigga manage to do exactly wat he said he would do and still manage to stay real in an industry full of fake niggaswhile doing it

HANDS DOWN THE BEST AND " REALEST" ARTICLE I HAVE READ ON ALLHIPHOP.COM IN A LONG TIME... REAL TALK...

Look, I am a 50 cent fam live at 5 from NY born and raised. I been with dude since the mixtape days when his buzz was only as big as lets say... T-Rex's is now. Just a local NY mixtape rapper with some skill. Back then, dude was Ill... I mean impressive. His motivation, KILL JA RULES Career (which he did successfully). That was his best work. Think about it. Wanksta which was his break out song was about Ja! In the club also had several shots at Ja Rule in it. Ever since the first album Fif has been on a steady decline to the point of him currently being irrelovent at motivating the minds of his listeners. For example, 50 couldnt, do what Jay did and tell people Change Clothes, jerseys are over. People would not listen to him. The proof is Rick Ross... For all of 50s MONEY, Status, reputation and power, he could not beat Rick Ross musically. Its too a point now that even on THISIS50.com the bulk of his fan are asking him to stop beefing with Ross because he is losing. Ross makes better music. Despite his career background, his music is undeniable. Fifs music sounds like its 1997. Too many yes Mans around him telling him its hot when it isnt.
And by the way, I recorded with several Murder Inc artist including Ja and the pictures are on my myspace page so this isnt a one sided opinion, just real talk

I'm a fan of 50. I do think he's letting these haters get to him though. It's fucking up his mind. All he needs to do is have 2 good singles produced by the Doc and people will say he's back.

Now the Doc has to give him some bangin beats now. Like some of the beats that are on Em's album. Like that song he talks about his mom. That beat is the shiznit and Em's just rapping about his mom again. I bet a lot of rappers were like "You gave this beat to Em so he could rap about this shit". 50 on that shit would be bananas.

I think for a free mixtape, street album or whatever this is pretty good. If this was another rappers actual commercial LP people would probably call this a classic album.  50's problem is that he is 50.  He should dp what he did for Game with a lot of these songs and give another make another cat's career pop and enjoy the royalties. Alot of 50's mixtape songs are hot, and he puts out a lot of material... he's almost tupac-like in the amount of music he has recorded... difference is he's doing it while he's still alive.....they like you better after you're dead.

keep in mind,50 [like most other artists] have waited their whole lives to make their 1st cd..and the 2nd is made while they are enveloped in the after effects of their 1st one.that alone makes it hard to ever outdo their 1st efforts.timbaland & polo da don on production only indicates to me,50 is going the pop route for that cd..hoping to garner back to back slaps..heavy on features..I remember when cmw came with "music to driveby" & 8ball & mjg came with "on the outside lookin' in",both were arguably their best works, much like "grodt" cmw & ball & g only had ONE feature on that bitch each..and for mc ehit,he did more tracks then ball & g & rapped the whole thing for dolo..

To be honest I haven't been a die hard fan of a rapper since 2Pac got killed. And even then, I didn't really like 2pac all that much until his album Me Against the World was released. I've been reading the comments on this forum and first and foremost, Fuck lil Wayne, that lil nigga is garbage to me. He shouldn't even be compared to 50, they are two different types of rappers. I liked 50's first two albums. On Curtis, he just sounded like he wasn't hungry, like he had lost his passion and fell off into his own lil comfort zone. I didn't really like but 3 tracks off of that whole album. But he's had some time off now and has been through some shit since Curtis, so B4 I Self Destruct should have some interesting things on it. As far as the War Angel, I haven't listened to it yet. I'm not really a big fan of mixtapes, I like original albums. Based on what most people are saying on this forum, the War Angel is good, I just hope the mixtape isn't better than the actual album. I'm seeing that happen more and more these days, and to me, that's just sad.

man i swear 50 is the most hated on man in the rap industry...i dont even get y people hate that much, if u dont like it just dont listen to it...i mean, everybody even says CURTIS was the WEAKEST fif ahs done, and it was still straite, it had more than a few bangers on there, which is more than what 95% of other rappers give out these days, with al these fucken do the halle berry, stanky leg songs n shit...the mixtape is aite, could b better, but its just a warm up for whats comin, and i like where hes headed...position of power

Damn this shit is hot.  The only track I wasn't feeling was London Girl, other than that I can play this shit through and through.  There are a lot of haters when it come's to Fifty.  Claiming he doesn't have any type of lyrical ability or he's soft now.  But ya'll the same niggas' with wack ass Gucci mane and Yung LA in your CD Deck.  If you aren't feeling it go elsewhere.
