Hip-Hop star Flo Rida will be among the artists performing during the 2009 Miss Universe Competition, organized announced today (July 25). Flo Rida will perform his huge hit “Right Round” as well as his latest single “Jump” during the pageant, which is hosted by Billy Bush of Access Hollywood and Claudia Jordan of Deal or No Deal and The Foxxhole Radio Show. The event will be aired live on NBC from Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas on August 23rd at 9:00 PM. Other performers during the night include Kelly Rowland, Heidi Montag and David Guetta. In related news, Flo Rida also revealed to AllHipHop.com that he will be joining Beyonce during her upcoming tour of Australia.

Eminem’s brother Nate Mathers avoided jail time yesterday (July 23), buy pleading guilty to a lesser offense in relation to a DUI charge. Mathers was stopped by police in April for failing to yield to an ambulance. Mathers, who raps as Nate Kane, failed field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol level of 0.16, double Michigan’s legal limit of .08. Mathers pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while visibly impaired, his second offense. A separate count of operating a vehicle while impaired was dismissed. The rapper is expected to have his license revoked and be placed on probation when he is sentenced on August 26.

Veteran Philadelphia promoter Charlie Mack will present his 6th Annual Charlie Mack Party 4 Peace Celebrity Weekend. A number of stars are confirmed to attend the fundraiser, including Megan Good, Tyrese, Nia Long, Terrence Howard and a number of other NBA players and athletes. The event will aim funds for local community outreach organizations in attempt to curtail the violence that currently plagues Philadelphia’s streets. The weekend includes a comedy show, a panel discussion, asthma screenings, a day of festivities for local children banned from the Huntingdon Valley Swimming Pool and a celebrity basketball game, featuring performances by legendary beat boxer/rapper Doug E. Fresh and local rappers Meek Mills and Yung LA.

Atlantic Records’ recording artist and rapper/rocker Kid Rock has enlisted legendary producer Rick Rubin to help him craft his upcoming untitled studio album. Rubin, who has produced records for Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash,, Slayer and Danzig, as well as rapper like the Beastie Boys, LL Cool J and Jay-Z, is also head of Columbia Records. In May of 2007, signed a deal which allowed him to continue work as an outside producer, with permission to produce artists that are not on Columbia’s roster. According to reports, Kid Rock has already secured a track from T.I., before he was incarcerated and another from New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne.

Kid Rock sells out huge shows in Detroit. He just sold out back to back dates at Comerica Park. I bet he couldn't sell 500 tickets outside of Detroit.

I bet he might be able to...he's got a decent country following these days.  Bet if he promised to keep it low-key, focusing on passionate ballads about unrequited love and tractors, that he'd be selling out shows all across the south.

Wouldnt the name "Nate Mathers" work a whole lot better than "Nate Kane?"

Nate Mathers might get a chance, Nate Kane sounds corny.
