West Coast rap star Snoop Dogg is giving fans more to look forward to this year with the release of his new line of headphones.

The rapper’s headphones will feature amplified bass for consumers.

In addition to Snoop Dogg, famed turntablist Mix Master Mike and Super Natural will market their own line of headphones for DJs. Park City, Utah-based music accessory company Skullcandy will make both headphone lines, which are slated to hit stores later this year.

With the Skullcandy alliance, Snoop Dogg and Mix Master Mike join mega producer Dr. Dre, who expanded his business endeavors last year by working with Interscope Geffen A&M chairman Jimmy Iovine and audio accessory maker Monster Cable to create his Beats by Dr. Dre headphones.

The beatmaker’s headphones are priced at $350. Snoop Dogg and Mix Master Mike will capitalize on their new partnership with Skullcandy by taking the stage later this month at the Snowsports Industries America trade show.

“At Skullcandy, we’re always looking for events that bring a unique energy to the action sports and music industry,” stated Rick Alden, CEO and founder of Skullcandy. “Bringing a mainstream and talented crew of folks like Snoop Dogg, Mix Master Mike and Super Natural to SIA for the show’s last year in Vegas is our way of going out with a bang. We’re thrilled to bring top-notch musicians to our party as a way of thanking our collaborating partners and core dealers—it’s going to be a great.”

Skullcandy will have a booth at the event, which will take place from January 27 to 30 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Snoop Dogg and Mixmaster Mike are set to perform on January 28.

Cats in hop hop has no originality in business. It's either liquor, clothing line, pimp energy juices, and now Dre did the headphones, here comes Snoop. What he knows about sound?

I retract my last comment. Even though the article does not state the price of the headphones, I did some research and found out that Skullcandy's usual inventory of headphones are'nt as high priced as Dr. Dre's. If they are smart and wanna do a good business move I dont think they will be anywhere near $350. I personally still dont want them though.

Good luck to Snoop, but I agree he's jumping on the bandwagon.

Do another venture man, like Snoop-branded & designed car stereos or something.

Really, your questioning what someone who makes music for a living knows about sound? That's like asking a woman what she knows about shoes lol, come on. I agree it's not original but you can't make music without knowing something about sound.

actually the Black ones are about 350. They have a white pair coming out that is 800. Its stupid, all they are are just the same ones painted withe for twice the price.

BTH these are the headphones youre seeing in more and more videos. C Hamleton, Keisha Cole and some others has the red B on them. they arent bad, but not worht 350.

I so Agree...Hip-Hop is filled with copycats...If one rapper eats in McDonalds, then every rapper wants to eat in McDonalds..

Its was real funny when Jay-z and Diddy was Dickriding Crystal, untill they release a statement saying that they don't want rappers giving them a bad name, and how they been in business for a long time and they don't want an expiration date on there products much like a rappers career..

I so agree, rappers putting there names behind products is soon gonna be a thing of the past...Simply because they ruin reputations..

The dre headphones are $350 and they are not even worth half of that. If you want a good pair of headphones try brands like grado, sennheiser and brands that make headphones exclusively.

I thought Dre's headphones were designed for use in the studio, not with an iPod.

I would expect Snoop's to be more of a fun accessory for hip hoppers and teens, who want an affordable, must have, item branded by one of their idols.

Real geeks know that Seinheiser makes some of the best earphones money can buy, like Technic's are know for their Turntable technology, expect fun, oversized and funky for snoop, a series of fun colours and a nice carry case or some shit, with different logo's and blinged out versions which will be called "Hi end" versions that all the rock stars, actors and socialites will be wearing or will buy for thier kids.

Don't be mad at Snoop people, at least he ain't trying to sell alcohol to kids and we all love music, right?

I actually admire Snoop on his marketability.  This is the same cat (or dog) who had his own hotdog and skateboard brands a while back.

However, I just don't see how $300 headphones is the next big thing to get into.

some people need to learn how to fuckin read for real.. lookin thru the comments, like 1/4 of people thought it said snoop's joints are $350... dr. dre's headphones are $350, no price was given for snoop's.. but i would figure they'd be typical skullcandy price range, about $100 give or take.. dre's headphones he actually helped design with the purpose of hearing every element to music as clear as possible, basically for studio use i would think.. snoop's are pro'lly just gonna be your average skull candy headphones but with a blue paisley design on em or sumthin..
