Rapper Jay-Z will take over Sirius Satellite Radio's Hip-Hop Nation (Channel 40) for one week, it was announced today (November 2).

Jay-Z Nation launches for one week starting November 5th at 5 pm ET.

The channel will feature music from the American Gangster movie, Jay-Z songs and personal favorites.

During the week, Jay-Z Nation will air a live concert playback from Jay-Z's upcoming concert at the House of Blues in Chicago and a host a Top 20 Hip Hop Countdown.

"Jay-Z is one of the preeminent creative forces in the music industry.  Over the last decade, he has truly changed the face of hip-hop and music culture." said Scott Greenstein, Sirius President of Entertainment and Sports.  "We are excited to have him take over our airwaves and provide our listeners with this unique and exclusive experience."

American Gangster

I saw the American Gangster premier (yes I didn't want to watch the bootleg on the internet, I got that radio station hook up).  Anyways, the movie was pretty decent, a little long though (2hrs 45mins).  I give the movie 8.5/10 (trust me, it was no New Jack City)!

I'm looking forward to the album, I'm sure it'll be tight.  You know Hov isn't going to go soft on his TENTH time around!!!

Go get that....

I thought the film was actually good...a lil long (the end could have been a LIL more dramatic...but hey, it's real, right?).

But the movie was on point.  Wasn't meant to be a "New Jack City", because it was AUTHENTIC....not as "lavish" as New Jack.  More real undertones, about how the police get down...about how Lucas had to always watch his back...and about how silly niccahs will get you caught up.  T.I. shoulda saw this movie before he got hit up on them gun charges:)

Watch what friends you keep.

Anyhow...

Hova's album is a smash.  He'll do between 3-4 million on this one...

Sattelite doesn't need more hiphop. Don't knock it till you try it. I thought Shade45 was gonna be just Em and G-Unit, but they play a lot of good shit. I like this one better though, channel 40. If Em or 50 has beef with anyone than Shade45 won't play their records, which is bullshit. That's the same thing Em was whining about when the Source banished him, hipocrite. If you don't have Sattelite, get that shit. I have both XM and Sirius and they both play all the way from top 40 shit, to down bottom shit like Brutha Lynch Hung.
