Its always good to hear a rapper talk with some sense. I can't get used to the fact that he uses the N word but I'm guessing he uses it without malice. Nevertheless, good interview and props to B Real, I've never really remember him ever talking reckless in any of his interviews, even after Ice Cube broke Cypress' back, in '96. True to his name indeed, we have enough fakers out here.

This guy is so damn underrated. He'll slay half the rappers out there right now. I own every Cypress album. Some better than others, but they are good quality pieces of work. Cypress Hill IV was my personal favorite. B-Real just friggin killed it man. Looking foward to the solo joint. Good to see it on Duck down as well. Real hip hop. Hopefully we'll hear him along side Buckshot, or Heltah Skeltah and them. Keep doing ya thing.

I used to be a fan, then when I quit smoking weed I was a Cypress hater. I mean it was Dre, Snoop and Cypress making me do drugs at the age of 14. Anyway, I'm now at peace with Cypress. I think they are great musicians, and B-Real has proven himself over the years. They somehow show, without all this kind of Diva shit, you can stretch your 15min of fame over a much longer time span. Cypress might be the only Hip-Hop group who can still perform after they turn 50 years old.

Now that I have dealt with that, let me address the shitload of false information you guys are posting on here.

Brother! Have you forgotton about all the African mixture in Venezuela, and Colombia? I mean, I appreciate your attempt, but man, this is way off the mark and the millions of people in these countries that are of African descent would not appreciate your grouping them as Native and Spanish.

I would also like to add that even in countries like Puerto Rico that are tri-racial, you can still be one of three or any mix of.

JUDAH NAZURA - I am an Arab man, and I never say the N word out of respect for Africa and it's people, but I appreciate the pass lol. That being said, I am also uncomfortable grouping people as BLACK. Remember, race is a social construct brought about by a Euro centric ideology and has been used systematically to divide the world. Arabs (regardless of color) have always been extremely hard pressed to said they are "Black." This is because we are not a color, but a culture that has contributed infinitely to humanity. Furthermore, Black in and of itself cannot cover all Africans. A lot of Berbers and Arabs in Africa are not black yet they are the indigenous people of certain regions in Africa (and yes I include Arab as indigenous of Africa because Arabic is an Afro-Asiatic language, and a lot of ethnic groups in Africa who have always been there have adopted Arab culture). Don't let them fool you; Africa is not just black, and I think if you look at an Ethiopians face, and look at an Arabs (even if the Arab person is very light skinned like myself) you can see a striking resemblance; even more so than the resemblance between an Ethiopian and many West Africans.

JUDAH, I also wanted to expand on your comment of Arab contributions to the slave trade (and your non excusal of it). There was rampant slavery in Africa and the Middle-East, and Arabs did not just enslave Blacks. Our idea of slavery as Africans and Middle Easterners (and even Indians) was different than that of the Europeans who tainted the Middle Passage, and not quite as harsh, potentially it could have been, but it generally was not as harsh and unforgiving. Furthermore, Africans themselves took many slaves (it is documented that Egyptians used Armenians as slaves) and many Middle-Eastern (and I bet African) used Caucasians as concubines. I have seen resentment bring out the worst in the races of America, and I do honestly believe that African Americans have a severe disadvantage in American society (which is very unfortunate as they have a lot to offer), but I believe that victimizing oneself will only make matters worse. All cultures have contributed to humanity to a certain extent, and especially African, so don't be so unforgiving JUDAH; if you feel like people have not appreciated your culture, than you are worrying about an ignorant section of society who's will to change is non-existent and who is slowly deteriorating with the rise of new generations of open minded and educated individuals.

Arab is cultural not ethnic, thus, identifying with Arab culture makes you Arab. Many Africans identify with Arab culture and are thus Arab and consider themselves so. Your point is quashed because of this. You are not capturing the essence of what I wrote, you would not be debating me if you did.

Furthermore, your notion that Arabs are originally Greek is completely false, erroneous, disturbing, and unsupported by genetic data. Egypt is filled with Egyptians of Greek descent, but it is also filled with people who have no Greek ancestry. How about Syria? Lebanon? Tunisia? Iraq? Libya? Morocco? etc... I am Syrian/Leb/Egyptian/Armenian, and I have absolutely no Greek blood. My Lebanese ancestors were Phoenicians who had their capital city in North Africa (Carthage), and who gave Humanity the first alphabet. How about the Sumerians in Iraq? Are they Greek? They are the first civilization! how could they have come from the Greeks! These were all different cultures (albeit similar in many ways) who have adopted the Arab culture and language (the newest of the Semetic languages despite how ancient it is). For you to Group Egyptians and all the people in the Arab world as Greek is frightening and shows either that you are biased against Arab people (for their unquestionably negative actions against the Ashantis which I wont deny) or just ignorant on the subject.

Furthermore, I could see why you would want to deny Arabs any African heritage and blame them for slavery and so on due to a personal stake, however, this does not excuse your ignorance in labeling us as Greeks. Take me for instance. I am a Catholic Arab who's ancestors (Phoenician, Aramean, North African, etc) were also persecuted for not being Muslim (and never becoming Muslim) or succumbing to Islam. My people spoke Aramaic (Jesus' Language which is Semetic just like the languages of North and North-East Africa) and had their tongues cut out for speaking it. I still consider myself Arab however, because my culture (Lebanese, Syrians, and Arabs of the Levant) adopted Arabic Language and culture. Bottom line brother, do me a favor and don't group us, and don't deny our links to Africa by calling us Greek. I could talk shit about Arabs all day, but it is too broad and vague to point the finger because Arab culture is so encompassing. Furthermore, to call me Greek is an insult, they are European and I am Semetic from North Africa and SouthWest Asia; our language is before them; our culture is before them, we don't speak Greek and we are proud of our ancestors. You don't see me calling you Chinese right? It's cause you are not, so please don't fucking call me Greek.

Originally from India, then going westwards through Pakistan into former Persia. From there spreading over the then Greek empire, formed the leading Dynasties of trading in the Mediterraneans.
Mixed with Greek, Romans and Egytians.

For Berber you are right. They are indeed Africans mixed with
German Gothic tribes. Took a long time before they were islamized, nowadays they are the strongest believing Muslims in Morocco and Algeria. I know several people who are tribal Berber.

No, Phoenicians are not from India, they originate in the coasts of Lebanon and Syria (and only god knows where before that). They spread throughout and Mediterranean and North Africa, they are not European, they spoke Phoenician, and when you look at Berber language and alphabet (indigenous people of north Africa) the similarities and remnants to Phoenician language are striking. Bottom line, everyone has African ties when looking at humanity genetically and most ethnic groups that have adopted Arab culture and language have very recent African ties. As an Arab I don't go around claiming I am Black or African, but I do not deny that I have African roots; I can see it in my family members faces, language, food, culture, and life.

I would also like to thank you for an intelligent and non-confrontational conversation. I always appreciate a good mental stimulation and people who are proud of their native heritage. It pains me when people of my culture or any other deny their African heritage and put European qualities on a pedestal. I think all cultures have something to offer. I have made it a point to study West African civilization because our educational system in the U.S. keeps us in the dark about it. You have a lot to be proud of as an Ashanti (mostly from the region of modern day Ghana correct?) as I have read that great civilizations existed and continue to exist in the region. I feel like it should be a point for the U.S. to teach more about West African culture (and other cultures as a whole) and contributions in our educational system. A lot of people have the notion that these people were natives running around with leaves covering their private parts and selling each other into slavery; they are greatly mistaken.

I definitely agree with it being part of American curriculum considering this country was built on the blood of African (and Native American) slaves. I just think you are being a little harsh. If you ask me, subjective interpretation of those books stemming from bias, prejudice, and hate caused people to lose lives. I have never looked at the bible and wanted to kill anyone, but I feel what you are saying, religion has been used as a weapon countless times.

I have went to ever Cypress Hill show, especially the Smokin Grooves tours, and they are very active with the fans. Cypress Hill is problably my favorite hip hop group to see live, other that the Roots. Both these groups give great live shows and have some very good albums to back them up.
