My only problem w/ this is when he talks about his CONSERVATIVE views. There is a point to where YOU making money literally takes money out of the hands of tens of thousands of people. And the only reason YOU could make that money is because that money isn't in the hands those people. Thats why higher taxes for the higher paid are necessary; They benefit the most from how the economy is structured, therefore they need to pay higher dues in return for being so successful. I wish i was in a position to pay high ass taxes - it only means my money is that much longer. What does it look like when someone who made 16.2 million in one year pays nearly the same percent in taxes as someone who made $200,000? That shit would be bogus.

I don't illegally download albums. I feel like buying a CD is like VOTING. There is a lot of shit not worth paying for, and if it aint worth paying for, IT AINT WORTH LISTENING TO. The game is oversaturated, because a lot of dudes done bought into the hype. The "Hype" is anything that has to do with you BESIDES the music. The Swag bullshit, and the "He aint the best rapper, but he a real street dude" bullshit. I don't buy into that.

I have love for this music, and I don't support dudes that just exploit it. That being said, one of the only albums I bought this year was M.A.D.E.
I also bought, Super Gangsta, Paper Trail, and The Solution. I want to go get "The Recession", but a lot of dudes just don't put enough into they craft and all the production sounds the same. These dudes don't have influences that date back to Motown days, and they just see the fly shit. They don't have no love for the music.

I get tired of rappers saying "I aint no rapper". That's like a doctor saying "I aint no doctor, I just do it for the money"

First, let me say that Scarface has ALWAYS been one of my favorite emcees...and always will be. Dude has stayed real with himself and consistent with the hits throughout the years.

Now...on to my criticism.....

FaceMob sounds a little bitter in this interview. I mean on some real shit...how long did these rappers think this rap shit was gonna last? When you stop and do the math, why would these cats expect to get RICH off a bunch of bullshit words???? And unfortunately, negative words moreso than positive words. That's why I always give it up to cats like Jay-Z, LL Cool J, Ice Cube, TI, Ludacris, Queen Latifah, Roxanne Shante, and countless others...who used this rap shit as a stepping stone to get into something else that is more respected and has more longevity. It's nothing wrong with being a 40 year old rapper, but make sure you can add something else to that title too...like businessman / woman, entrepreneur, CEO, actor, whatever.

On another note, you got cats studying to be doctors, lawyers, businessmen, entrepreneurs, actors, hell, even musicians....paying shit loads of money and putting in mad work and studying time. And they still may not get there until 10 - 15 years after they get in! So in my opinion, it's stupid for a rapper to think that he's ENTITLED to get rich just cause he comes from poverty, he endured hardship, and that he can think of 100 differents ways to tell a story that's already been told 1000 times. To add insult to injury, 90 percent of these rappers spend 15 minutes tops in a recording booth talking about nothing, and half of that 90 percent are too lazy to write anything down! Why would anybody spend their hard earned money on that shit? You gotta MAKE cats want to put their bread up! Instead of talking about selling dope, killing niggas, and fucking bitches all the time, why don't you sit down and craft a really inspirational, beautiful song...it may actually pay off in the end.

FaceMob is mad talented and known for spitting that real (often inspirational) music, so he shouldn't even be bitching about how the game is fucked up in the first place. It just sounds like he needs to check his business game. Maybe make some of these cats sign contracts so that you'll DEFINITELY get your money.

'the diary' and 'the fix' are both undeniable classic albums.. and everything else he put out, 'last of a dying breed,' 'm.a.d.e.', whatever, all thorough, incredible projects.. i d/l ALOT of music and show support and buy the cds of a FEW.. scarface is one of the few that gets my money. hopefully dude doesnt stay retired, but there's definitely a lot of dignity in quitting when you're still on top making incredible music that real heads love and support.. quitting while you're ahead isnt the same as quitting.

Very Real words spoken by a true rap legend indeed and I agree with many on this page that it is indeed a very sad day when you have a legend like Scarface that sayin fuck the rap industry b/c you got these corporate heads that went to college for 3-4 yrs coming in this industry without full knowledge of understanding of how the music business is suppose to work. And that why you got a gazillion of artists out now puttin out albums b/c corporate industry has taken over and has allowed these new age cats come into the game most of which dosen't know about the pioneers that started this culture so it could see a future.

Being in Texas, you can always hear Face givin it you straight, no chaser. One of the realest nad the best. He is like a number of artist who has put decades in and is frustrated with the state of hiphop. He has the most commanding voice. He is an amzing storyteller. Hopefully he'll step back for a quality project.

I think scarface was telling it like it is and kinda confirmed how dead hiphop really is, but at the same time he sounds like a quiter. I understand where you comin' from but not every nigga that's an Artist/Producer/Engineer all in one is as LAME as SB. I write my own shit, record my own shit, make my own beats from time to time, mix it myself and upload my shit to the web too, there's nothin' wrong with that, you gotta understand that real artists that talk about real shit such as myself are just milking the digital age for all it's worth, and no I don't have to leave my crib to record because I'm SELF SUFFICIENT, bought my own studio equipment, tought myself everything I know about the programs I use, all that.
