AllHipHop.com watches S. Carter plot his latest blueprint. The story could end right here, right now, and it would be quite celebratory. But it doesn’t end. The saga continues. That's just the way its done and unfortuanetly for artists they have to deal with unloyal music execs. Jay could have easily said "look Teirra I gotta let you go ma! Its business not personally. I wish I could give you more time but that not the nature of the business". That's f'ed up but thats how it is. He played Sigel, freeway, and peedi peedi after bringing them over after the R.O.C dismantled. Jay-z is the emcee.. Jay aint even the boss, he is THE BOSS!!! Im pretty sure artist gotta holla at all type of A&R's b4 even gettin to Jay. So if anybody shouldve made the call it shouldve been a A&R. People always puttin Hov at a impossible standards. Like "American Gangster" was a classic fuckin album. That shit was in my CD player for months. If Lil Wayne wouldve created that same material people wouldve said how great that album was, but since it was Hov people like O it was wack. Hov done put out like 12 albums and out of all those albums only " Blueprint 2" ( which wouldve been dope if it was just one CD) and " Kingdom Come" ( Which I thought was good but shouldve been way better being the comeback album ) was kinda bad. mentality where we expect more personable service or attention from others based solely on the commonality of race or personal relationship. We can argue about the ethics or morality of some of these situations but the bottom line is that 1. ) you NEVER mix business with pleasure and 2. ) the term Business Ethics is an oxymoron ( there is no such thing despite what they would have everyone believe ). That doesn't make the treatment or decisions right ( from a street integrity perspect ), but that is the reality of business at a corporate level. Name me one multi-million dollar corporation/business where the CEO takes time out of his busy schedule to fire workers in the mailroom.

Jay gave Foxy and Tierra Marie a job/opportunity. It is not his responsibility to spoon feed and baby sit them throughout their entire career...especially individuals like Foxy who consistantly make poor life choices and are their own worst enemies. Now, if Jay did something like this to Memphis Bleek, I could see the uproar ( that's like shittin' on ya blood brother who always had your back ). More importantly, you never hear about Memphis doing stupid shit that is bad for business or his livelyhood. You can tell that Jay tries hard to separate himself from people with unnecessary baggage....especially if he's tried to school them about it in the past and they continue doing stupid shit. Just my opinion...yall get the picture.

re: Jay-Z: Prelude To The Blueprint III

I'm happy to read so much good comments!

RESPECT to y'all!!!

re: Jay-Z: Prelude To The Blueprint III

HOV THE G.O.A.T HANDS DOWN.ANYBODY THINK THAT AIN'T TRUE GET AT ME.

http://www.myspace.com/allthingshiphop

re: Jay-Z: Prelude To The Blueprint III

Chuck "Jigsaw" It only justifies his versatility and artistry even more. I'd love to hear that subject matter in his lyrics too!

As far as the thing with Foxie and Tierra go, as cliche as this is, it's just business. I feel that's one problem with our people, we mix emotion with business too often; not a good combination. Even on a grander scale, we complain and ask for this and that to give us beneficial things (from government, organizations, etc.) but we won't bring much to the table to take action anymore. This is just another example imo.

re: Jay-Z: Prelude To The Blueprint III

no one has done what he has done.

threre wiil be casualties in the game. can't make everybody famous.

can't wait for the Blueprint 3

 Daily Recap - 9/2/08 at SNICKA.com

PingBack from http://snicka.com/blog/2008/09/02/daily-recap-9208/

re: Jay-Z: Prelude To The Blueprint III

HE SHOULD JUST STAY RETIRED,LIKE EVERYONE WAS TRYING TO TELL JORDAY, CAUSE HIS LAST TWO ALBUMS WERE BOO BOO. I just thing Hov makes grown people music. Hip Hop had to grow up. Dude is so lyrical it's ridiculous. He can rap about anything & make it hot. And he always rhymes about things but gives you the consequences of the actions good/bad. How can you not appreciate that. This is true artistry. I just encourage everyone out there to listen. Me personally, I can't think of 1 of his albums that I have had to use my skip button more than twice. That is a true accomplishment in my mind, compared to these candy ass rappers that don't do nothing but put out directional songs (move this way...do that thing...boo, boo, boo). With that being said, the only albums I don't think were really THAT hot were In My Lifetime, Vol. 1 and Blueprint 2. Not that they sucked, but they were my least favorites. Blueprint was probly my favorite Jay-Z album followed by Hard Knock Life, Vol. 2 and Kingdom Come and The Black Album.. well, of course there's Reasonable Doubt... DAMN! lol Jay is ill. I honestly thought American Gangster was overrated, so I hope BP3 comes out ill. Jockin Jay-Z is nice, so I'm lookin forward to it. Plus that joint "Aint I" was dope.

As far as his dealings as a business man, he's obviously doing very well for himself, which is cool. All those people unhappy with him, well, I can't call it. I'm not an insider on the situations, so what the hell can I, or ANY of us, say for that matter. For T. Marie, sorry sweetheart. Unfortunately, coming in this game young is risky. Mentally and emotionally, a lot of us aren't well prepared to deal with the bullshit and negativity and bad luck that often happens. I don't fault her or Jay.

re: Jay-Z: Prelude To The Blueprint III

Man real talk I'm a big Jay-z fan but he's a man just like the rest of us. He makes mistakes...but Foxy & T. Marie are babies. I don't think it's wrong to get to a certain poitn and seperate yourself from foolishness, Foxy was on some dumb shit not caring about her career, or how her actions were affecting others and Jay moved away. Not mad at that. T. Marie, to me if you're calling the head of your record label your "father" you got some daddy issues that you need to work out (holla 2 lil Wayne about that lol) business is business. I work at a hotel, if i got fired my hotel manager wouldn't call and fire me, the head of my department would be the one to do it, to call Jay grimey for not personally doing that is hilarious to me. That's why you hire these people, they do the hiring and firing. I mean as for the Dame is, i don't think that was on the up and up, to me he takes an L for that. However as president of Def Jam, he deserves zero credit for any of these artist whinning. I don't know if niggas realize this but Jay-Z was not the most powerful person at Def Jam, L.A Reid was his boss. The only nigga i heard blame L.A Reid for anything is DMX. The only reason niggas getting salty is because they feel like Jays a rapper and if they were having beef that he should have did more. But fuck that noise, niggas don't realize that if the audience is feeling you they feeling you. all the promotion in the world ain't gunna do shit if you're music doesn't appeal to niggas. When Nas comes out i know it, and i go cop his albums. Jeezy came out i copped his album today, L.A.X came out last week i copped that. I have no idea when LL is coming out next, and i don't care, his last good album was Mr. Smith i'm not checking for LL. Same goes for Meth. All in all if niggas are checking for you they checking for you, if not they not. Also, that nigga gets ZERO credit for the successful artists. Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Jeezy, Ross, Jay gets no shine for their success but if someone failed it's all his fault, i see flawed logic in that. all i'm saying is Jays not perfect i mean he did release and then had to apologize for Super-Ugly, but the man is held to a higher standard by far than anyone in hip hop. He takes L's but like I always say about Jay, the man may lose battles...but he wins wars...

re: Jay-Z: Prelude To The Blueprint III

So long as he isn't singing on the new album... fuck that. lol. Why? Because they make shit people want to hear. Not saying its the greatest music but apparently people buy it. These artists that are complaining and blaming jay z seem to be out of touch with what audiences want these days. It sucks but it seems like the vast majority of artists have to either sell out and make "popular music" to sell or stay true and not sell. Its some bullshit I know but it seems like that is waht is boils down to. I don't know why everybody blames Jay z. Do you guys really think he was the BOSS of Def Jam. nah I think a lot of these artists are just jealous. Its a dog eat dog world. No business ever succeeded by being "nice" in the industry. Truth is there are going to be some casualties. I don't see how jay z is the cause behind all of them

re: Jay-Z: Prelude To The Blueprint III

FOR ALL YA HATERZ WHO """DON'T KNOW"""

I came into this motherfucker a hundred grand strong
Nine to be exact, from grindin G-packs
Put this shit in motion ain't no rewindin me back
Could make 40 off a brick but one rhyme could beat that
And if somebody woulda told 'em that Hov' would sell clothin
Heh, not in this lifetime, wasn't in my right mind
That's another difference that's between me and them
Heh, I'm smarten up, open the market up
One million, two million, three million, four
In eighteen months, eighty million more
Now add that number up with the one I said before
You are now lookin at one smart black boy
Momma ain't raised no fool
Put me anywhere on God's green earth, I'll triple my worth
Motherfucker - I, will, not, lose

I sell ice in the winter, I sell fire in hell

I am a hustler baby, I'll sell water to a well

I was born to get cake, move on and switch states
Cop the Coupe with the roof gone and switch plates
Was born to dictate, never follow orders
Dickface, get your shit straight, fucka this is Big Jay
re: Jay-Z: Prelude To The Blueprint III

For anyone saying that American Gangster wasnt a good album really lets me know how much you LISTEN to music. A lot of people think its about the movie and talking about dope. But if you really listen to it you can tell its about the rise and fall of a hustler. In a few years I think people will look back and see what type of album it really was and what Jay was trying to say with that album. I can honestly say that it is my favorite Jay album.

re: Jay-Z: Prelude To The Blueprint III

ummm.. In my opinion, I think it's feminine to believe gossip and judge the character of a man that you don't know based on gossip or "he said she said" type shit. I don't know how "foul" Jay Z is because because I don't know the man. He could very well be a foul ass type cat for all I know. I'm just not in a position to judge that man. You say that everyone can't be telling the same lie and he does his ppl foul, but what are you really basing that on my man?

Dame and Biggs? I don't see how your or anybody else can take a side in their split with Jay. None of us will ever know exactly what happened between those 3, but those 3. What we do know is that their empire was built mainly on Jay's talent, they made millions and millions of dollars together, and they each walked away from the split multi-millionaires.

Beans? Jay discovered Beans and put him on. He was eating real well with Jay for 4-5 years and consistently paid homage to Jay. Bean's career isn't going that well now, but how is that Jay's fault? Did Jay make Beans go catch bullshit case after bullshit case? Beans has sabotaged his own career. Plus I've never even heard him speak on Jay being foul, his beef seemed to be with how Jay handled his last project. He actually called Dame a "snake" and said that he would never ever do business with him again.

Dehaven(and ppl like him)? I damn sure can't call or take sides in this dispute. This is a guy that Jay ran with in the street. He claims that Jay is foul because he isn't looking out for him now. Who knows how valid dude's beef is? I don't, nor do I really care. There could be a million and one reasons why Jay no longer fucks with dude. That shit is between them.

T. Marie, LL, Meth and the rest of these industry ppl? Their beef sems to be with how Jay ran Def Jam. There's a reason that sayings such as "never mix business and pleasure" "business, never personal", and "business is business" exist.

re: Jay-Z: Prelude To The Blueprint III

Keep doing what you do Jay. Pac and Biggie were friends and than became enemies. That type of ish happens all the time when women and money get involved. It's funny how I read some of these comments and it just sounds to me that people hate or won't give you the props you deserve but they still listen and still read and still comment. See what we don't see is Jay is a threat to a lot of rappers, that's why they still take shots at him. I just think that Jay looks at rap like pac and nas, its bigger than rap.... Jay has went overseas quite a few times and got a lot of coverage. I hear other rappers go over there and no coverage at all. Now just imagin Lil Wayne, The Game, and some of these other rappers that could very well be the next big thing, all come together for a real cause and fight the power than. But it seems like this generation of rap is very contraversal and are after each other (not wayne though). I'm trying to remember if Jay had a real beef with anybody when he first came out but nothing sticks out. He was just making good music and we liked him for that. I'm not going to say none of ya'll that don't like Jay are haters but I think that you all have not excepted him as the greatest rapper alive and that's ok but when you say he need to retire, he wack stop listening, stop reading his stuff. For example while I think get rich or die tryin is still to this day dope, I can't stand 50 Cent..I respect his hustle tho..video game, clothing line, his own label (wack as it may be), his own flavor of vitamin water..i gotta respect that

I feel like Jay is undeniably the best rapper alive, despite everyone saying that they themselves are. his record is impeccable..i mean if he was in the NBA he would be a shoe in for the hall of fame..10 number 1 albums (second only to Elvis), how many platinum plaques?, 3 maybe 4 classic albums (imo Reasonable doubt, Blueprint 1, maybe Black album and American Gangster) and maybe some of the illest guest appearances (Wayne's got a few too). Cmon who else has a resume like that? WHO? Nobody..U aint gotta like it but you gotta respect it..

how has this man changed the game..changed this culture? Cristal, Ace of Spades, Maybachs (the Maybach coupe too), Evisu (these aint diesel/these is Evisu), St. Thomas (go do your research/St. Thomas my nigga/That was me first), ushered in the grown man look for hip hop..Hell, my boys from back east were telling me that folks started returning their BMW X5s after jigga called them baby mama whips..Things the man is doing and talking about now, your favorite rappers will start doing and talking about in 2 years..you ain't gotta like it but you gotta respect it

I mean who is leading the rap game the six statistical categories: best flow, most consistent, realest stories, most charisma, sets the most trends and the hottest interviews? For Teairra Marie I understand that Hov could have dropped the news on a personal phone call cuz they were "so close". But damn business is business and plus we in a recession shit like this should be expected. So for all yall aspiring, rappers and singers yall better have a strategic game plan and make sure yall iz nice before yall even consider showing ur face in the game today. I ain't gon lie when I hear Teairra old joint now.. it was sort of corny. And alotta people I know jus downloaded the album. But what if she came back and made a crazy single that would put her back on the map, what it really is, is proving everyone wrong cuz all it takes is one single then their back in the game they just gotta maintain they status and hype lol thats the hard part for a lot of artist today.
