Jay is my dude.. but lets keep it real there is a certain format or unethical "ethical" business concepts implemented once you get to his level. That's just the way its done and unfortuanetly for artists they have to deal with unloyal music execs. Jay could have easily said "look Teirra I gotta let you go ma! Its business not personally. I wish I could give you more time but that not the nature of the business". That's f'ed up but thats how it is. He played Sigel, freeway, and peedi peedi after bringing them over after the R.O.C dismantled. Jay-z is the emcee.. Shawn Carter.. is the name of those dotted lines thats why he feels safe.

^^^^Cosign like a mutha. Deep down the sentiment of some of these people is one reason why black business and authority figures have such a difficult time succeeding. Its that "let me get the hook-up" mentality where we expect more personable service or attention from others based solely on the commonality of race or personal relationship. We can argue about the ethics or morality of some of these situations but the bottom line is that 1. ) you NEVER mix business with pleasure and 2. ) the term Business Ethics is an oxymoron ( there is no such thing despite what they would have everyone believe ). That doesn't make the treatment or decisions right ( from a street integrity perspect ), but that is the reality of business at a corporate level. Name me one multi-million dollar corporation/business where the CEO takes time out of his busy schedule to fire workers in the mailroom.

Jay gave Foxy and Tierra Marie a job/opportunity. It is not his responsibility to spoon feed and baby sit them throughout their entire career...especially individuals like Foxy who consistantly make poor life choices and are their own worst enemies. Now, if Jay did something like this to Memphis Bleek, I could see the uproar ( that's like shittin' on ya blood brother who always had your back ). More importantly, you never hear about Memphis doing stupid shit that is bad for business or his livelyhood. You can tell that Jay tries hard to separate himself from people with unnecessary baggage....especially if he's tried to school them about it in the past and they continue doing stupid shit. Just my opinion...yall get the picture.

I realize that I am probably in the minority - matter of fact I might be the only that feels this way - but I WILL NOT BE CHECKING FOR BP3.

I havent liked Jay-Z's music in years and though, of course, I respect his hustle and his business sense, I wish he would just make the full transition into business man and finally leave rap alone.

The song "Jockin Jay-Z" bothers me so much because he is essentially describing how he jocked other artists that he used to listen to (BIG, Nas, Big Jaz, etc.) Its like he's gotten so full of himself that he forgot he used to follow other peoples footsteps too, and now he's saying everybody just wants to copy him. As far as the thing with Foxie and Tierra go, as cliche as this is, it's just business. I feel that's one problem with our people, we mix emotion with business too often; not a good combination. Even on a grander scale, we complain and ask for this and that to give us beneficial things (from government, organizations, etc.) but we won't bring much to the table to take action anymore. This is just another example imo.

Wowww!! I can't believe there are people on here who are really hating against this dude. Yeah, he is somewhat arrogant at times. But what MC isn't. That is a requisite of the job. I just thing Hov makes grown people music. Hip Hop had to grow up. Dude is so lyrical it's ridiculous. He can rap about anything & make it hot. I consider myself a pretty big Jay-Z fan. With that being said, the only albums I don't think were really THAT hot were In My Lifetime, Vol. 1 and Blueprint 2. Not that they sucked, but they were my least favorites. Blueprint was probly my favorite Jay-Z album followed by Hard Knock Life, Vol. 2 and Kingdom Come and The Black Album.. well, of course there's Reasonable Doubt... DAMN! lol Jay is ill. I honestly thought American Gangster was overrated, so I hope BP3 comes out ill. Jockin Jay-Z is nice, so I'm lookin forward to it. Plus that joint "Aint I" was dope.

As far as his dealings as a business man, he's obviously doing very well for himself, which is cool. All those people unhappy with him, well, I can't call it. I'm not an insider on the situations, so what the hell can I, or ANY of us, say for that matter. For T. Marie, sorry sweetheart. Unfortunately, coming in this game young is risky. Mentally and emotionally, a lot of us aren't well prepared to deal with the bullshit and negativity and bad luck that often happens. I don't fault her or Jay.

When Nas comes out i know it, and i go cop his albums. Jeezy came out i copped his album today, L.A.X came out last week i copped that. I have no idea when LL is coming out next, and i don't care, his last good album was Mr. Smith i'm not checking for LL. Same goes for Meth. All in all if niggas are checking for you they checking for you, if not they not. Also, that nigga gets ZERO credit for the successful artists. Real talk, if BIG was alive he would be hated on the same way. I guess people forgot that the hate was there when he was alive. The he dies and everybody has good things to say.
