Inregards to this article: there is a qoute from the story on MSNBC where her husband basically stated she was not a participant in the protest and all that happen was she got stuck in traffic and step out to strech her limbs a bit. With that said does this not make her a random killing that the "society" choose to label her as a martyr?

I mean if your going to argue what constitutes a protest (an what repective action should be taken), could you not view how american protest as sort of a passive protest???

People cannot understand a martyr's point of view until they are placed in the same situation. Without the oppression and inhumanity in Iran, people in the US cannot comprehend the proud eagerness for a person to die for his or her country. Many did it in the US during the civil war, and blacks did it when they stood up against slavery. That wasn't even for religion, but were the stupid? It takes sacrifice to achieve freedom. I feel what some of you are saying, I don't believe things like the gov't being a reason to be comfortable, but with obvious exceptions with regards to slavery, equal rights for African Americans and Women, etc. other issues, localized issues, are exactly that, local issues.

I lies that take a country to War and the destabilization of an entire region of the world is something EVERY Democratic/Republic should be up in arms about, because those systems lead to massive civilian casualties and lives being forever changed, but that is my opinion. I don't think Big or Pac are in any stretch of the imagination a martyr, neither had goals a FRACTION of importance of a Dr. King or Malcolm X, they simply had a large following and fell victim to the circumstances they were in, they didn't DIE FIGHTING to change any type of social, political, belief system, etc, they spit about injustices..
