lol....when the page first loaded, i only saw half a star. was about to go ballistic.

I completely disagree, however. I thought Bey stepped up on this album. She finally sounded like a grown woman that actually had some form of a personality. Tracks like "Radio," I felt, demontrated some versatility. There were too many slow songs, tho. And all bunched together as well. Overall, I'd give this album an easy 8 out of 10. I'm copping.

She will make sure it's re-released. and payola will get it played on the radio enough until everyone is brainwashed.....I mean every artist have a flop cd or garbage cd, but when it comes down to beyonce, she wont take that as a lost, and just try better next time. I agree with the whole review........this album was so damn sub-par. I love Diva tho lol. I can see myself bouncin to that in the club. But aside from that.........yea, this album was quite disappointing. And I love me some B! I'm sure every single song will get played on the radio so much that i'll start liking them tho so whatever lol.

I kinda disagree with this review. Beyonce cd's are usually filled with light weight fluff. She definitely stepped her game up on the I Am part of the disc. The uptempo's are a little generic though.

I stopped liking Beyonce after the whole Destiny's Child thing. Now I won't deny that she can sing but she's not original at all and really Jay made her who she is. I mean she copies, not samples, but copies from other people. Of course people will buy her albums until the end of time. I personally think she's overrated. people are asking why she strayed away from the black sound. Well beyonce is just competition. She's just going to do better than the last hot thing. Thats her technique. When she first hit the scene solo around 02-03, Ashanti was the hottest thing. Ashanti was hood/pop, so beyonce first solo album, followed in the likes of her current competition, so she had that hood swang, round the way type of approach. During the years, rihanna got hot, so thats her new competition, now she make her albums in the likes of her new competion.

This is one reason why I'm not down with beyonce mania. She's talented, pretty, successful, but she's too damn competitive, that it's sickning. She wont let anyone have their time or shine without her trying to block it, but making all eyes watch "beyonce". Its like she study everyonelse technique and mimick it.

Its like the spotlight can't be shared when beyonce is in it. So it forces us to only hear her. There are other artist, the public want to hear also, she block the shine of other artist. its not like I'll do mine and let you do you. When beyonce is in the scene the media try to brainwash us, to listen to nothing but beyonce..this trick is getting old.

& yes I like responding about beyonce even tho I don't care for her music, because I like to voice my mind. I really dislike overly competitive people....

With every Beyonce CD it takes a minute to grow on you because she comes differently everytime. After listening to the CD multiple times I really like. Ive never been a fan of a split personality/two sided CD but the songs are quality. “If I Were A Boy” is set up like her muse Tina Turner's "Private Dancer" if you listen to the set up. Low key verses and high key chorus. I didnt feel it at first but when I really listened to the words its so much deeper than meets the eye. I like all the songs but the dopest, best song of the fucking YEAR is "Im A Diva"! WHOA!! That shit is pure fire and I can see Jay up there ripping the hell out that beat but I hope Bey will not only release that song because its hotter than "Single Ladies", but I hopr she have a remix with allll female emcees.

now that i have listened to the album a couple times there are about 4 songs which I like. i find that i have to listen to the songs intermittently, esp with the first cd. i don't know where one song starts and the other ends because they all end up sounding the same with all that slow singing.

i'm disappointed in the sasha fierce side. when is she gonna grow out of that stupid bubble gum crap? especially with that diva and radio song. omg, unbearable!

I've only went through the album once so far, but it didn't impress me. Double albums always take the risk of having too much fluff (ex: The Blueprint 2 / T.I. vs. T.I.P.). I'm not a hardcore Beyonce fan but I do like some of her music & this one was disappointing on the 1st listen.

I am surprised she didn't have Jay on a single track or any guest for that matter.

This woman cannot make a good album. The reviewer summed up Beyonce's solo career perfectly. She tries to be everything to everyone and her music suffers for it. I don't think she'll ever reach her musical potential. She doesn't have ONE album you can point to and say that's "great."

The last Destiny Child album was dope. Really the only thing I can mess with from the entire DC legacy. Solange did her thing though.

Okay here's my honest opinion. I was on the board with a few ladies and agreed that it was garbage. I had the time to sit this wknd and listen again and I'll admit it's grown on me. Now i read somewhere on here where it was said that means I forced myself to like it. NOT TRUE.

For one, if you all remember, this same thing happened to Mary when she came out with a different sound for a bit and the whole world went crazy saying she flopped because she wasn't singing sad, hurt songs anymore.

If you really listen to this album you see B is seriously in love and just happy with who she is in life. Yes she's competitive, so what? Life is a competition. Secondly, if she's overloading us with her, the other artists need to come out and just go for there's also. I dont' understand why Ciara, Keri Hilson and others pushed their album back because she was releasing hers.

I am disappointed she didn't wait a few more months so that the others and her sister Solange could get their radio play and promote their albums. But again this is where the competition comes in. The other labels should also promote their artist just as hard. Stop being cheap.

Back in the day their were many coming out @ the same time and they all sold and made their numbers. Why because theirs alot of people out here who don't like B, or vice versa. I'd personally buy all the ladies releases.

I'll put it like this, she wanted to try something different from what she normally does, she did. It worked to me. And all this talk about originality, COME ON, everyone is influenced by some other. It's a part of life, it's recycled over and over again. It's all on how you put it out.

Period, i liked it after playing it again. I love Diva, Hello, and Ego is my ish. the ballads are cool. I like the dance songs better but in general the album is cool to rock to.

Check it out for yourself and see. Listen to a friends because we all know someone who has it. :-) I give it a 7-10 based on how often i'd play it.
