Kevin Rudolf is as far away from rock music than Nat King Cole is to gangsta rap. Kevin Rudolf is pretty much Britny Spears without blonde hair and a chest. I wouldn't confuse NSYNC with hip hop just cause there's a beat behind it. This shit is pop fluff for teenagers.

i dunno if you all download music off the net but my personal favorite collaboration between 2 different worlds is Saul Williams album The Inevitable Rise & Liberation Of Niggy Tardust produced by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. He does dark ass industrial beats so it was kinda a no brainer. Not every song is on point but its worth hearing. 99 Problems is great, without Walk This Way & Bring The Noize we wouldn't have this natural progression. Still Kevin Rudolf is lame pop music. NOT ROCK!

now wayne is getting credit for the revival of the rock/rap mashup? ok. I dont think this is a fad though, because it never went anywhere. this def is a permanent part of hip hop. hip hop has always used all elements of music. rock just happens to be a commercially viable product. so no, i dont agree with the notion that wayne has revived anything. just working with somebody doesnt shift the music game. i'd say somebody like Timbaland should be giving a lil more credit here. also, put onyx and biohazard in this mix.

Kevin rudolf or whatever they call him is not rock.. I hear a little techno and keyboards going off with a guitar in the background.. I've heard real rock and this shouldn't be classified as rock.. Wayne needs to stop walking around with guitars as well like he can actually play and set the stage on fire with a solo.. It's a good concept trying to mix the two, but it hasn't been done well in a while!

This whole I'ma Roc star thing is a fad....just like a few yrs ago it was I'ma hustla'...or when it was "I'm grown and Sexy".

The core elements of all those still exist but the oversaturation of it is fades with time.

All the while the music gets less and less creative.

but rock incorporates all diferent instruments as well as hip hop. a instrument shouldnt just be limited to a certain genre. i love the sound of guitar on any rap or hip hop song except party like a rock star. rock and hip are important to each other. rockers rap all the damn time and rappers try to rock so hard it aint funny. i love all types of music, but am a serious rock/metal/hip hop fan. so when serj from system of a down dos a song with naw thats when ill really be diggin mashups...
