yo i copped this album yesterday and i'm not impressed

they didn't let her make her own descisions vocally and she didn't really make really soulful songs

Jazmine Sullivan's debut cd is better then this

that 'Pocketbook' track is corny

i can tell musically they watered her down....she need to stop fuckin wit old ass Clive Davis and get wit a nigga like Bryan Michael Cox or one of those Blackstreet niggas to produce her next album

I liked the album a little more obviously than the reviewer because I realize the talent thats there. Like I havent felt this way about a voice since the "old" Whitney Houston. I like alot of people thats out, I mean Alicia is my fav., I love Jazmine Sullivan, love Beyonce of course but Jennifer is what Whitney, Celine, Aretha, & Mariah represents. The straight up, vocal cord made personally by God type singer. So on those songs that were mentioned to be, especially the T-Pain joint, her voice just shines thru. Hands down J-Hud is the best singer in the game right now. The only people that can compete with her isnt even in R & B. Like Christina Aguilera can honestly have an argument about singing better than this chick and thats it. We need to recognize talent and a true singer when we say it. Does that mean that she's is going to be the best ARTIST in history, no. Stevie Wonder, Prince, Madonna all of these people dont have the best voices but they are great artist because of song writing, instrumentaion, and individuality yet when it comes to straight up blowing, J-Hud got that. I LOVE THE ALBUM!! I LOVE JAZMINE SULLIVAN'S ALBUM. I havent listed to R & B in a while but these two women have brought it back!

I was scared they would do this to her. She has zero writing skills but an amazing voice, what to do? She's been crowded with too many styles, I think she should have learned to play an instrument, that would have been a power play! Her voice is so rich and heavy, she requires a certain type of song and music to make sense. I absolutely hate that song with her an Fantasia and think it under minds both of their talents.

It's gonna be hard for her to crossover into mainstream pop/rnb music with such a big voice. Usually girls with voices like that are regulated to an Adult Contemprary audience(Deborah Cox,Kelly Price,etc). I agree the album has no direction. I gotta say the Jazmin Sullivan comparisons aren't fair. I think Jaz is overrated. You can't expect Jennifer;an Oscar winner,signed to Jrecords,to make songs like Bust Your Windows etc.

Well, I think people's expectations are set high because of her breakthrough performance in Dream Girls. But truth of the matter is...Jazmine Sullivan shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Jennifer Hudson. No diss to either of them, but let's look at it real...how can you compare a classic, soulful voice to a singer talking about "breaking windows in your car?"

I think everybody should chill and let Jennifer Hudson grow as an artist. I heard the album and no, I wasn't impressed with the direction of it. But her voice alone is better than 70% of the artistry that's out today.

It's not always about how soulful you is, it's about bringun out your personality in the album, which she J Hud didn't do at all. And J. Sul does have a soulful voice as well, but you can tell she owned her album. J. Hud took a lost with this one.

Some of yall are irking me because I feel like we have been spoiled by the handful of people that are out that can play an instrument. Everyone isn't Alicia/ Aretha & can play a piano. Everyone isn't an india ire/ Prince & can play the guitar. Back in the day a singer was respected. I love the recognition that writers are getting these days because they are the truly talented YET, the ability to sing is like one of the most revered talents. Not the trained voice singers that we hear 2day from our biggest pop stars but the shit that was had since 11 years old in the choir! That's beautiful & J-Hud is the reincarnation of a breed that I thought was already dead. I love the direction that R&B is going with Jazmine, Jennifer & Keri Hilson. Stop tryna pop out these chicks. Stop tryna make them be Roberta Flacks and just respect the fact that they going stand in the middle of the stage & just blow...minus the pop locking & the intricate dance moves... all thes other chicks need to get like them!
