lol damn folk are being REAL technical with the whole "this aint Hip Hop" stuff.Its music, urban music and urban culture it all falls under the same umbrella.

With that said, I have heard some surprisingly good things about this album........I'll listen to it at my homegurls crib.lol

I might have to cop it if its that creative,I liked "Decided". I think that Solange is very talented because she penned the best song on Destiny Fulfilled, "Bad Habit". So I think people need to, like Nale Carter says, give her a break. The only thing that bothers me is that Michelle and Kelly havent been getting the promotion that they deserve post-Destiny's Child. I believe that even Solange isnt getting promotion, shes doing alot of "self" promotion. Matthew Knowles is giving Beyonce all his energy and I dont feel its fair because Bey is eating...why cant everyone else eat?

I heard some of these tracks for myself and thery ARE NOT very good...i agree the direction and intent of the songs are great but her voice is not strong enough to carry a whole album...reminds me of ashanti...smh

She sampled Boards Of Canada on the album for fuck's sake, it was always going to be good... fair play for not going down the easy, dull as ditchwater Beyonce route and daring to do something different. If more 'RnB' artists did that instead of treading the same tired formula maybe we wouldn't get flooded with so much shite. Solange gets my respect (and my cash)

album is off the map copt it yesterday and aint stopped playing it.....this album might go down as one of those hidden classics like minnie riperton's come into my garden or marvin gaye's here my dear unfortunantly people dont think for themselves and rather follow the pop wave that the media pushes. i love when artists dare to be different and she accomplished that well and the subject matter was well rounded vocally she was on point and sounded well with the retro production the cd provided.

I really like this album. I would say it's a solid project. 3.5/5 I like the Motown era vibe of it and she can write. My only critiques about the album is that she strained her voice too much on one song, and White Picket Dreams isn't on the album which is a mistake because that's one of the best songs she's ever done. I think if she just relaxes her vocals a bit she can be even better than what she is already.

The stand out tracks on this album for me are 6'0 Clock Blues, T.O.N.Y., Ode to Marvin, the duet with Bial, and Valentine's day.

I'll support her and buy the album. It's only $6.99 at Best Buy this week.
